I have been a fan of "Jon and Kate Plus 8" since it debuted on Discovery Health. I have followed the show throughout its run and am a huge fan. I absolutely love that the seasons have been released on DVD. What I find frustrating is that the seasons are never complete. There usually seem to be missing episodes. And while the Season 1 & 2 combo had the first hour long special, "Surviving Sextuplets and Twins", the second hour long special that was filmed before becoming a regular series, "Sextuplets and Twins: One Year Later", has never appeared on any DVD release as a bonus feature.

This set is no different. There are episodes missing (including the series finale). Included as a bonus feature is the special "Kate: Her Story". However, when it originally aired it was an hour long special. Without commercials, it was between 40 and 45 minutes. The one included on this DVD set is severely edited and only runs about 15 minutes.

I am not sure what TLC's reasons are for not including all episodes. It is just disheartening to enjoy a show so much and to not have the product be complete. As much of a fan as I am, I missed the last three episodes of the series and was hoping to watch them on this set.

As for what is included on this set, the episodes are great. It was a trying time for the family but when you watch them consecutively, you really see a troubled family making headway with the new direction of their lives. While awkward at first, what a difference the separate interviews make. Kate is so relaxed and funny! And even Jon seems to let his guard down and enjoy himself. You can see that separating was the best thing they could have done for themselves. It would have been really great to see the show continue as "Kate Plus 8" as originally planned - and some of the later episodes give a preview of what this new series could have looked like. At this point now that the seasons have all been released (though incomplete) it seems unlikely that there will ever be a boxed set. However, if that ever happens, please PLEASE include all the episodes and specials to make the series complete!!

While from what I can tell the eppisodes are complete the bonus of Kate: Her Story is only about 15min long which means thers about 30min of footage missing. That internview was an hour long, when you factor in commercials the interview was about 45min. It's bad enough that some of the other seasons are missing eppisodes, about 8 in all. But to put on an interview and edit it down is just WRONG. If they didn't want the whole thing there don't put any of it in.

I'm writing this review to warn people that want all the episodes in Season 5. The TLC store says on their website that they have all the bonus episodes exclusive to their site only. I went with TLC store and I have all the episodes that many say they are missing when they buy other places. The worst episode left off I heard is the Season finale the last episode.

Which I have on my Jank Season 5 DVD I bought mine from the TLC store if you want all the episodes you should do the same.

I made the mistake of buying 17 kids and counting from Amazon expecting the 4 bonus episodes from the Duggars very first TV appearances my favorite episodes actually and i was disappointed to find them missing So i ended up having to re buy it! on the TLC store website (those were the only episodes i really wanted) I don't have that kind of money lol who does ":) buy it at the TLC STORE get your moneys worth

I have all of the other seasons so I had to get this to complete it.

The product was as I expected. It came fairly quickly and was in great condition.

I liked the show a lot.I have followed it from the begining.I enjoy watching them.

I dont get why this has good reviews. They move into this huge expensive mansion, pretending to be so much in love still.....but the marriage is over!!!! The kids are in background. All this is faked just like watching a soap opera. After only watching a couple of episodes I quit watching. I won't give my ratings to money hungry people who pretend they do everything for their kids, but in fact they are using their kids to make money. Kate is real mad now cause her ratings are dropping. Everyone is seeing her for what she is!!!!! good monther my rear, she isn't even home to be there for them. Her and her fake hair, manicured nails....ughh excuse me while i go puke!!!

Buy this DVD only if you enjoy 8 unhappy kids screaming, crying, fighting and doing their excremetory activities.

Kate is a shrew and she should be avoided at all costs.
