5.0 out of 5 stars JonBenet's Gift: A MIracle for the Millennium
This is a wonderful book. It has a message of hope and healing, as well as awareness for child abuse. I now look at my children differently and cherish each and every moment with them. I've always loved my children, but I now have a deeper love for them. Our relationship has flourished beyond anything I ever imagined. My children trust me 100% and show their love...

While a reader who left a bad review on Amazon attacked the author as a "disgruntled employee" as the basis for his poor review, my opinion expresses my not being able to find a "gift" in all of the reading. To me I found this book upsetting, not at the author, more at the content. I take the book with a "grain of salt" because I am not solid in my stance about channelling, but if in fact the author's "readings" on JonBenet are in fact true it hurts to read that her life was such a rotten one. JonBenet is called a very vulgar name by her own mother who also contends that she is a bad person who will go to hell. While the book offers yet another take on this tragedy, I can't see the "gift" of it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Think about it...., February 23, 2000

I worked at Access with Jane, as well. She all but admits to being a disgruntled ex-employee. The entire premise of the book is her fantasy of what happened, with no supporting facts. I'm in awe that she is legally able to portay these fantasies in such a way that they appear to be "inside information" or in any way based in fact! I am truly sorry if Jane suffered the kind of childhood she details in this book, but it doesn't excuse manipulating the details of a crime she knows no more about than the rest of us, or exploiting a tragedy to seek personal vengeance. She was never a fan of the Ramseys, and always quick to spread any gossip. It's scary to see it becoming a career! Check your facts, folks, and save your money...

1.0 out of 5 stars Yup, an opportunist all right, February 15, 2000

It's strange, but I too, knew the author when she was employed by the Ramsey's and knew of her intense hatred for the family. I am glad I am not alone in my feeling that this book is simply her way of making money off of someone else's tragedy, money that she could make legitimately IF SHE COULD HOLD A LEGITIMATE JOB. The last "real" job the author had was with the Ramsey's and that ended in 1994. She has been living a long time off of her negative energy and vindictiveness for being fired. As one other reviewer said, GET A JOB! The author is no more a psychic medium than Bill Clinton is a celibate monk. Don't be one that buys into helping her make it rich at the expense of a family that is already suffering in their own personal hell.

2.0 out of 5 stars OK, so what's the point, Patsy did it?, April 29, 2000
The only "gift" I see is someone's becoming a psycic. What is JonBenet's gift to the world as the book implies? In the book "JonBenet" says that her parents are responsible. She also makes a one-sided judgement against the Columbine gunmen. Judging from a christian standpoint, I cannot fully believe that JonBenet--being in Heaven--saw only the negative product of high-school culture. Quite frankly, I question the truthfulness of this book based on that comment alone. I believe JonBenet saw more than just some people being stupid and shooting up a school for no apparent reason. A good read but something rather fictional than bona-fide believable.

This is a wonderful book. It has a message of hope and healing, as well as awareness for child abuse. I now look at my children differently and cherish each and every moment with them. I've always loved my children, but I now have a deeper love for them. Our relationship has flourished beyond anything I ever imagined. My children trust me 100% and show their love and effection daily. We have all read this wonderful masterpiece of a book and have all received the gift from JonBenet's loving spirit. Children are only children for a short time and we all, as parents need to take advantage of the short time we have with them as children, learning and growing and evolving into adults. We are all adults for the rest of our lives, we need to enjoy their childhood with them. This book is inspirational and gave me a final ending to a horrible true life murder that unfortunately happened. It gave me closure to something that has been on millions of peoples' minds, as well as gave me a gift I never would have gotten anywhere else. I just have to thank you, Ms. Stobie, for the courage to write what you did and the wonderful book it became, the world needs more people like you,to not be afraid and stand up for what you believe in. Good Luck with your book and may GOD bless you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Disturbed by Negative Reviews, June 22, 2000
This review is from: JonBenet's Gift: A Miracle for the Millennium (Hardcover)
I read this book quite some time ago and really enjoyed it. This book confirmed much of what I had already thought happened to this little girl, though some of what is written does not make sense. The author mentions blood being cleaned up after the murder, and everything that I have read on the murder indicates there was none. Other than that discrepancy, I felt the author was right on target.

I was however disturbed by the number of negative reviews written by people who had worked with Jane at Access Graphics. Ordinarily, this would have changed my opinion of this book and the author. However, after reading the book written by the Ramseys themselves, I don't like either one of them. I can see where they could make someone's life a living hell, especially someone who works for them.

Hopefully this book is factual in the sense that the little girl has reached beyond the grave to shed some light on her murder and that she has found some peace. The truth may never be known in this case, therefore the same rings true of all books written about it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Changed My Life, April 28, 2000

This review is from: JonBenet's Gift: A Miracle for the Millennium (Hardcover)
JonBenet's Gift truly changed my life. As a survivor of childhood abuse I was deeply touched by Jane's story and what JonBenet must have gone through. This story is about a miracle, a miracle of the truth and change. I am also glad she broke through some of the denial surrounding this case. I also know now that there is something beyond death out there and that any spirit can heal. Thanks Jane!

I found this book to be really interesting, especially since she worked for the Ramsey's. I feel it gave her an insight on what these people were really like. I hope the BPD at least took the time to investigate the things she says happened in this book. I feel if your interested in who murdered this child it gives great insights into this family. Thanks Jane in caring enough about JonBenét to write this very interesting book. You did a wonderful job.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst Book Yet on the JonBenet Case, February 11, 2008
You don't even have to read between the lines to see this is a disgruntled failure who saw a chance for some attention. By her own admission, even before working for Access, she had trouble finding and holding a job. Forget about her nonsensical, delusional channeling, she can't even get the known facts of the case straight. Clearly the drugs and alcohol she says she consumed so copiously have left some permanent damage. Don't waste your money on this crazy lady.

1.0 out of 5 stars An Opportunist, February 10, 2000

Jane Stobie represents the worst that crawls out of the woodwork whenever a tragedy occurs. She self published this repulsive trash hoping to cash in on her connection to JonBenet, as a former employee of John Ramsey.Anyone who ever knew her knows of her hatred and jealousy of the family. If JonBenet could speak from her grave ,she would certainly find something less inane to say than what's in this book. This "Suddenly Psychic Susan" needs to get a real job.
