Go see these guys live, and feel the vibe., January 6, 2000

To really appreciate the Grumby-ness, go see them live at one of their (usually weekly) shows in NYC. Bring a candle, light it, get up dance, spin yourself around, and then pour the molten wax all over yourself. This seriously enhances the live experience. And you can usually get a funny word from Schwartzer if you really get crazy and inventive with your waxing. Enjoy.

Jonas Grumby has removed all sore spots in the back of my head pushed it through a mom made mitten grinder and spun some typical instruments into a swirl of great furnished ear compartments. To dance to sing paint and frollic, the music of the grumbies have caused a mountainous upheaval of hope that will grow in size and swallow them all.

"Jonas" has clearly made a name for themselves with Elephant Angel.. If you've been waiting for something to come along that'll blow you away, this is it!! "I Saw A Fat-Man" is downright funky.. This album has it all.. Schwartzer's voice is the most distinct sound around.. It's an album you don't want to miss!!

Jonas Grumby has come full circle. Elephant Angel is a compillation of years of hard work, fine tuning, blood ,sweat and tears.... It contains the classics like "Aquaman Tan" and "Skrudigan" both songs true to their "Grumbyiesque" style. Bar none the strongest track on Elephant Angel is "I saw Fat Man", with is gritty riffs and the introduction of the trombone. Hopefully we'll see more horns in the future... Do yourself a favor and get this album, they guys are gonna be huge... RPW
