Quite possibly the most perfect solution for hair,
By
This review is from: Jonathan Product Dirt Texturizing Paste - 1.7 oz. (Misc.)
After many years of searching this is probably the best hair product ever made for stubborn hair. Just a brief background, I'm Asian, a guy, short straight black hair, that just wants to stand perpendicular from my scalp, yes even on the sides, so I look like a koosh ball without any product in my hair.
I tried gel: rinses out nicely, holds very well, but clumps, looks and feels like plastic when dry (and always looks wet) I tried mousse: rinses out easily, holds ok, doesn't last long though. Always looks wet. I tried pomade: holds very well, but is sticky to the point where on a windy day in the city, you have wonderful random bits in your hair. It also takes maybe 2+ times to shampoo it out! I tried wax: forget about rinsing it, takes so many shampoo sessions to really get it out, holds very well, also sticky like pomade I tried matte: rinses out nicely, holds not to well, but suffices... However, they don't tend to last for the long haul... Maybe 5-6 hours tops. By the end of the day at the office, if you tussle your hair a little bit (maybe to scratch it a little bit), it starts dusting. Any more and it looks like someone antiqued you. Then there's Johnathan's Dirt. Holds like a pomade, applies like a matte, rinses like a matte, and lasts all day. You can even fix it late in the day with just damp hands. You can apply it dry for a textured matte feel. Want a wet look? Use it on wet hair to have a gel-like look without the clumps. It's not sticky either like pomade. At the end of the day, rinses right out no problem. I've been looking for a product like this my whole life, and here we have it.

As a guy with very fine and straight hair I've always had a tough time keeping my hair from sticking out in all directions if I have it any length longer than a buzz cut. Dirt is just perfect for me though. It starts out as a semi-firm paste but melts when you rub it in your palms before applying. I'm guessing it gets firm again once it's in your hair but it's spread out enough you don't feel that. So my hair gets good control without being sticky or overly oily. Just remember you only need to apply a small bit, a dab'll do ya.

Dirt is the Best for this couple!!,
This review is from: Jonathan Product Dirt Texturizing Paste(R) 3.35 oz (Misc.)
We have all three Dirt products at home - Dirt Texturizing Paste, Spray Dirt & Silky Dirt. My husband and I both use them every single day and will probably never go back to anything else. I have long, thick, course hair and the Silky Dirt is fabulous, along with the paste or spray at the end for any flyaways (which I've noticed way less of now that I use the Silky, while wet). My husband has very straight hair with medium length for a guy, not super short. and he uses the spray while his hair is damp, and a little paste at the end to lock it all in. We love these products and can't live without them now. And coming from us, that's quite a compliment. We're both very finicky. The only thing I could see with the bad reviews is that maybe they've used too much. The product is very rich and you don't need much. Also - order direct and get free 2-day shipping, free samples and great customer service! Look, nothing is going to make you wake up with different hair than you've genetically inherited - but Dirt helps you get drastically closer to what you want it to look like. It's great!

Dirt Texturizing Paste is probably the least appealing name for a product I've ever encountered, however it doesn't change the fact that it not only works, but works amazingly well. Yes my friends, my hair tends to stick up and go wild in even the smallest of windstorms, but no matter- this paste is really the ticket to having your hair stay in one place without the frustration (and embarrassment) of having to re-comb it once you step inside. If you live in the northeast where EXTREMELY windy arctic blasts are a common theme throughout the winter, and you have wild hair that refuses to stay in one place, this is a must buy product.

Top Tier,
This review is from: Jonathan Product Dirt Texturizing Paste(R) 3.35 oz (Misc.)
I really like this product and would highly recommend it. I was skeptical, at first, bc it seemed a little dry but I take a small amount, rub my hands together and then style my short, textured hair when it's wet or dry. All of my hair (including cowlicks) is exactly as I want it and the hold lasts all day--spiked, texturized, matte, soft to the touch. The only semi-constructive criticism is that the smell is a bit too...feminine/kind of like baby powder + vanilla. It's not bad but it's the only con I can give this. I'd say to spend the money and try this, if you're on the fence.

Smells great, but i should have noted the size of the container. Price not worth the size, the product itself smells like vanilla bean, soooo good. but it fails to keep my hair molded throughout the day, perhaps lasts a couple hours and then it's like pomade where it just weighs my hair down and by the end of the day my hair is flat.

I have naturally curly hair and this stuff works wonders to keep the curls together without all the frizz. Use on damp hair and style as needed. No need for a mouse or gel with this one! I buy it for friends =)

I love this stuff. It's not oily or greasy and works exactly as you want it to work. Easy to apply AND easy to get off of your hands. Towards the end of the day if you need a little more omph, just get your hands wet and "fluff" your hair and it will work beautifully. This also lasts a very long time. You can find cheaper stuff, but you won't find any that works better!

invisible hold, smells good,

A lot of the styling pastes out there hold well and have the right texture but the manufacturers add a ton of fragrance to mask the chemical smell of their product. I literally went through everything at the pharmacy but they all had really strong smells. This product smells a little bit like cake batter. It's subtle and not too overpowering. Also holds great. Good for pixie cuts and short styles. Doesn't flake or feel crunchy. Highly recommend.
