BEAUTIFUL stuff!, December 11, 2008

If you like to craft fabric items, Jones Tones foil will be an exciting addition to your craft box. I bought a kit containing the glue, most of the foil colors, and a small roll of double-sided tape (sadly this kit is not available on Amazon) to experiment with. It's simply beautiful. Stamp or squeeze the glue onto your fabric/card stock/whatever; let the glue dry until it's clear and shiny, not white; lay a piece of the foil, color side up, over top of the design and rub with your fingers. Lift away the clear cover sheet and voila, you have a beautiful shiny foil design. If you stamp it, the design will be mostly flat; if you squeeze the glue straight from the bottle, your design will have a bit of 3-D to it. You just need to make sure you use enough glue. For my first attempt I painted glue on the fabric with a small paintbrush, and most of the foil did not adhere properly.
I am going to add a picture to the Customer Images area of a spiral we did using the iridescent swirl (which is in a different packet of foils). They say you can wash the shirt inside-out on a cool gentle cycle, but I haven't gotten that far yet. I love it! I love it so much I have signed up to become a Jones Tones reseller.
