A psychedelic samba-funk classic from 1972, February 20, 2009

Jorge Ben "Ben" (Philips, 1972)
--------------------------------------------
A super-groovy psychedelic-acoustic samba-funk album from the early 1970s, when Brazilian superstar Jorge Ben was simply on fire. Really great stuff, though sometimes a little challenging. Sadly, this CD edition came out in 1993, and the album has been out of print ever since. Another edition is long overdue!
Tracks include:
1 Morre o burro fica o homem
2 O circo chegou
3 Paz e arroz
4 Moça
5 Domingo 23
6 Fio Maravilha
7 Quem cochicha o rabo espicha
8 Caramba
9 Que nega é essa
10 As rosas eram todas amarelas
11 Taj Mahal

Absolutely fantastic!, June 7, 2011
This review is from: Jorge Ben - Ben (Audio CD)
Had this cd shipped to me from Brasil and it was worth the $40. Energetic and beautiful. I particularly fell in love with "Quem cochicha o rabo espicha" after hearing it in the documentary "Manda Bala" and could not find it on any of his more available cds. This cd should be re-released so others can enjoy it. Includes lyrics sheet.
