I have smaller versions that I use regularly. These are excellent for their long capabilities.

I had two Jorgensen 3736 36" clamps for about 20 years until losing one while moving. Bought three of these to compliment the one remaining. These have a thicker, heavier bar and a beefier clamping mechanism than the 3736 and are padded. These don't flex as much as the 3736.

I don't remember what i paid for the earlier ones but I wish these were available back then.

Very good clamps. Not as bulky or as heavy as similar pipe clamps.

I am extremely happy with the quality and price of these clamp, AND, they are made in the USA.

super heavy duty, didn't know they made one this size, well they do, and its this one. Great deal only 1.50 more then the non heavy duty ones.

Service was great with good packaging. Items are just as described. Very pleased and would order from this vendor again.

I ordered 6 of these clamps, and they work splendidly. I was most dismayed in how they were shipped from Amazon. Each was shipped in an enormous box with about 25 feet of 3-foot wide kraft paper for packing. This did nothing to hold the clamp in place. Every box was badly beat up from the inside by the movement of the clamp, and in all six cases, the bar protruded from the box. I was very fortunate that the none of the bars were bent, as happened to another reviewer. A far better way to pack it would have been to zip-tie the clamp to double- or triple-thickness cardboard cut to the footprint of the shipping box. The use of some standoff blocks on each backboard (enabling the backboards to stack) would then allow all six clamps to be shipped in the same box, or maybe two boxes of three clamps each.

After having these clamps for several years I find that I have replaced them all (about 15). They sit in a corner. The clamps badly stain wood and it takes a good deal of work to get the stains out. Even placing doubled over shop rags under the clamps leaves stains. It is necessary to use another wood that can be sacrificially stained. I have tried to clean the pads with every solvent I can think of. The stains simply come back. I simply got tired of having to think about the clamps to be used. Don't get me wrong - these are stout clamps and if not for the pads (which I should change out with ones made from another company and may some day) I would highly recommend them. I have not purchased another Jorgensen clamp since and probably will not again. For me their somewhat better clamping is not worth always having to have something ready to block the stain when I need to throw on another clamp. Obviously others have little problem with them and I am perhaps simply too impatient. In my experience I found that quite a few clamps work well enough and the downside of the Jorgensen is not worth it.

Got the two clamps today. Both clamps were visibly bended. They were shipped together with another item (48" level, painted surface with plastic components). None of these items were wrapped! Even though the box is full of packing paper but the packer seems not bother to use it to wrap any of the items. They collide with each other at one side of the packing box; unbelievable.

I just received this clamp and have not had a chance to use it yet,however if it clamps anything like it feels it should be great.As an amatuer woodworker, I own several other smaller clamps and some 'pipe' clamps. This clamp is much heavier than I had expected the screw is solid and about 1/2 or 5/8 in diamater definitly stronger than expected it also come with plastic caps on the faces to prevent scratching the work.
