Product Description

Color: Grey

Buster DogMaze is a food labyrinth created to challenge your dog whenever it eats. Start the fun by dropping some treats into the deep and curved tracks. The dog can easily see, smell and even touch the food, but has to mobilize its intelligence to push the food to the exit holes for eating. It stimulates all the senses of the dog and prolongs the meal substantially. The result is a healthier and happier dog. Perfect for treats as well as big meals and the amount and size of treats would characterize the difficulty level of the DogMaze. It can be placed both in and outdoors. The DogMaze is molded in one piece and is solid enough to withstand anything from rainy weather to the dishwasher. Made of food-grade PP and is a phthalate-free product. Measurements: 15 1/2" x 13" x 2 1/4".

I HIGHLY recommend this bowl for anyone who needs to slow their dog down.

This bowl does a great job of slowing him down so that he actually "eats" his food and can take some time to digest while he's eating.

I would definitely recommend this bowl to slow down those dogs that tend to eat too fast.

My fiance recently bought this bowl for our dog, who is a medium sized dog (about 50 pounds) and the ultimate "hungry-mungry". He is, hands down, the greediest dog I have ever encountered. We always joke that if he had a choice between saving us from a life or death situation and a hot dog laying on the floor, he would go for the hot dog first and then come rescue us after gulping it down in a few seconds. His life evolves around food, and his first loyalty is to food, and then our family. Regardless, we love him dearly. Mealtimes for our two dogs consisted of him inhaling his food in way under a minute, and then going to stand watch over our other dog (about 6 pounds and a finicky appetite) in the event that he could score an extra meal or stray morsel. He even drinks water and then dribbles it over any empty food bowl to lick up the resulting soppings. -_- This was annoying, to say the very least, and worrisome. We knew about the risks of bloat, and he'd often throw up from eating so fast (not fun at all to clean).

As I skeptically opened the box when this bowl arrived, I was already imagining him finding some ingenious way to circumvent the design (maybe even flip it over) and inhale the food as usual. He's a very crafty and resourceful sort of chap so we were right to have doubts. Much to our surprise and delight, he was forced to actually slow down and even chew his food! We didn't think that he even remembered how to chew. It now takes him around 5 minutes on average to eat his food. It's been at least a month and he still consistently takes that long. We put it on a small cheap rug, and he is not able to flip it over or slide it around. I just rinse it off when he's done and let it air-dry.

This has slowed the "Wild One" down tremendously - before I got this bowl, he would have inhaled all his food before I could put the other two dogs' dishes down. He's now discovered that you actually "chew" the food and the other two dogs are happy to be able to eat their food without the "Wild One" pacing impatiently for them to finish so he can look for any leftovers.

This slowed dog my dog big time, but within 3 months she had chipped 3 of her front teeth from slamming her face into the plastic trenches. The Maze is very deep and you could see indentions in the plastic from her teeth. Make sure you watch your dog close when feeding.

I'm sure this doesn't happen to every dog but it made my yellow lab choke, gag, and vomit even more than usual. He was just excited and frustrated and it caused him to swallow a lot of air.

Plus the design is a little silly having openings on two ends so it limits where you can put it near a wall or any other obstruction. I should also point out that this thing is huge; easily twice as big as a normal dog bowl.

I have a 5 month old Golden Retriever who inhales his food, and has some digestive problems. I had some success putting his food in a big red Kong, but he would scatter food all over the kitchen, and the cats would inevitably get to some of it. Dog food makes cats smell bad!

Enter the maze--it keeps the puppy busy for a good 10 minutes. The food stays off the floor (mostly) and the maze stays in one place. The puppy LOVES it, and it is easy to wash in the dishwasher.

My wife and I have a chihuahua who eats extremely fast. A family member recommended this dog bowl as a way to have our dog slow down when eating. It really does work. I spread her food throughout the maze and she takes much longer to eat and even chews her food! The only reason I didn't give five stars was that I wish they made a smaller size bowl for smaller dogs as it is a little bulky, especially when traveling.

I have fed our now 9 month old lab from treat toys since we got her at 8 wks old. I decided to switch to something that moved less so there wasn't so much floor debris/slobber involved like with treat toys that get rolled around.

This definitely works on slowing her down, her meals take about 7-10 minutes to complete using this tray. It does spread food around when she is nosing/licking it out, but I just feed it on the tile kitchen floor and she goes around and gets the pieces up as she goes.

Pros
-Less time consuming to fill as compared to treat toys
-Less mobile then treat toys, keeping the 'mess' in one spot
-Reasonable feed time, not too long and not too short
-Easy to rinse off (there will be slobber)

Cons
-After a couple months use there is a lot of chipped plastic where her teeth hit. She isn't chewing on the toy, this is just from her pushing her nose in the slots so her tongue will reach. I suspect I will have to replace it in time as the plastic starts to wear and then scratch her gums/lips.
-I worry about the front of her mouth with all the pushing into the slots, but so far I see no evidence of issues in her mouth
-The rubber feet could be more 'sticky', keeping it in place better on hard surfaces

Overall, I do like this tray and hope to use it for awhile.
