Too many scores, February 28, 2009
This review is from: José Mourinho - Made in Portugal: the official biography by Luis Lourenço (Paperback)
If you are reading this book you probably already know how his run in Portugal went. Much of this book read like an outdated newspaper as it was simply reporting scores. I would have liked to see a lot more insight into Mourinho's philosophies and less box scores. I would have also liked to read a lot more about his formative years as a coach. This books starts with his first head coaching position.

A good biography, November 22, 2008
This review is from: José Mourinho - Made in Portugal: the official biography by Luis Lourenço (Paperback)
Great biography of Jose and his time as a manager in Portugal. The discussion of tactics and footballing philosophy was very interesting and well presented. It gave great insight into what it takes to be a manager involved in multiple championships (league, league cup, european cup) and how to get the best out of your players and staff. Of particular interest was how the club as a business was portrayed. The discussion of the front office, trainers, assistants, players, stadium grounds crew, and everyone else that contributes to the final product that is a football match was very interesting.
