Deep lyrics and Excellent Music,
By
This review is from: Josecano (Audio CD)
People still want a new Mecano. This is not a new Mecano CD, but Jose's personal view of the world, as well as a small expedition into his life and mind. I'm amazed by the lyrics and the music. His voice is not good, but he sings with the heart. The last track, with its 'hidden' versions made me shiver because of the emotions with which he sings. If you look for pop or commercial music, don't get this.

Not for those that live trapped in previous success GRATE CD,
By Leonardo Pellicer (Mexico City) - See all my reviews

To many who are looking for a continuation of MECANO it might be not the best piece, but to those that enjoy music and that are open to talent and real artistic expression this is a grate CD.Not done for pop purposes, not seeking to sell for used rhythms or proved formulas. Cano with brilliant talent and grate courage explores his interior and shows material in which he really believes, a second though, a review of each track will allow you to find a magnificent piece of work. In "Da la piedra en el Cristal" a duel among the strength and weakness of two souls is explored, several rhythms are involved in the CD and in Linda Veracruzana he gets a grate song that promotes the mixture of chachacha, Caribbean, Latin and pop sound as well as the magic of the traditional music from Veracruz in track 9. Listen to it first, maybe borrow it from somebody and after having listened to it completely, yourself, you will take the best decision that for sure will be to buy it.

Don't let the name fool you...,

Sure, we all loved "Mecano" when they were together. The songs, the voices, the music. We all know that the Cano brothers were responsible for composing all these themes, however, don't let that fool you. This CD has to be one of the worst CDs I've ever heard. The songs are terrible, and Jose's voice makes you wish Ana Torroja was still with them. The only ssong worth listening to is track 11 "Lo que este disco necesita", because in it Jose really tells the truth about this material. If you are looking for some "Mecano" material, I suggest you try both of Ana Torroja's CDs, or even the first two CD's from Nacho Cano.

this isn't a bad nor great album. It's ok. it's better than what nacho cano has been releasing lately and as well what ana torroja has been releasing lately as well. highlights are songs such as Y ahora tengo novio where he defies sexual boundaries and Che Fidel. |
