Postcard Perfection,
By
This review is from: Joseph Cornell (Prestel Postcard Book) (Cards)
Admittedly having a mild postcard fetish, I bought this set of postcards on a whim, never having heard of Joseph Cornell, or seen his work. The book is a very neat book of cards, which tear out easily (for those who plan to share the cards), but are in such a nice medium of a book, they can be kept as a sort of assortment of Cornell's work. The cards are good for any occasion: Cornell used open boxes for his art, filling them with intriguing found objects. This collection is a great way to start on Joseph Cornell, or just have a set of cards which is unique and unlike anything else I have ever seen.

This postcard type book of Joseph Cornell's work iswonderful. It is a treat to look at the magnificent box assemblages. If this is a favorite art medium, then this will be a favorite little book!

I got two copies so I could freely mail the cards to folks, and still have a set for myself. The cards are small reproductions of a cross-section of Cornell's cryptic box assemblages. Very nice photographs.
