I love this rolling pin. It is so easy to work with, and you are guaranteed the same thickness every time because the discs are rigid (unlike the rubber bands that you can buy to put around an existing pin). I purchased it to make springerle cookies and it rolled out the dough beautifully. I was worried that the measuring guide etchings and joseph joseph logo would leave marks in the dough, but any impressions were very light and disappeared once I pressed the cookie molds down. The pin is nice and smooth and easy to clean. Well worth the money.

I liked the idea of being able to control the thickness of the pastry when rolling it out and it is a good concept except for the sizes of the discs which come with this rolling pin. 3/8", 1/4" and 1/16" are what you get and after using this pin for various holiday baking, I find myself crying out for a 1/8' disc. The 1/4" rolls out too thick. The 1/16" rolls way too thin. I tried stretching onto the 1/16" disc one of those 1/16" elastic bands for conventional rolling pins but the bevel on the disc won't allow the band to stay on. I bought 2 metal discs at the hardware store which came close to a 1/8" rolled thickness but the center hole is too large and the disc causes uneven rolling. I can't think what the 3/8" disc would be used for as 3/8" is too thin for biscuits. Also be aware that "6 adjustment discs" actually means 3 pairs! This pin is made in China but designed in Europe where perhaps they have a need for very thick or very thin pastry. But this is the American market and a little more variation in the form of 1/8" and 1/2" discs would go down very well!

What a fun rolling pin! It looks like a child's toy but it is actually an ingenious kitchen tool. I wish I had invented it!
The height washers are great and the width ruler is absolutely perfect. Once you use this rolling pin you won't want to go back to a regular rolling pin ever again. The only suggestion I can have for a future model is having spinning handles (on bearings) on the ends of the pin like regular rolling pin. This way your hands are not heating up the wood nor are your natural skin oils getting on the pin/dough.
