Most Helpful Customer Reviews

7 of 8 people found the following review helpful By S. J. Hall on April 28, 2012
Format: Paperback
If you really want to learn about racism, this is the book for you. To read what Josephine went through; so sad and such a travesty on the history of the US and elsewhere.

If you want to learn about families and how money isn't the most important topic, then this is the book for you.

Despite all the lows, the highs of Ms Baker's life stand out, especially her willingness to be happy. Her dreams were enough to empower life itself.

What a great personal read. This feels like you've intruded on someone's personal and private life. You leave admiring the greatness of the lady.

I would have liked to have awarded seven stars for this magical read.

This book was delivered in a swift and manner. The book (and it's cover) was also in good condition. I ordered other books on Josephine Baker and this one compared favorably.

Format: Paperback
This is a great book put together by some one who knew and loved her and uses what she said herself as its major source. It also tells us a lot about the racism of the time.
