Josh One exploded onto the music scene with his Grammy-nominated commercial remix for "Po’ Folks", a song that went Platinum for Nappy Roots and Atlantic Records. His single "Contemplation" was then remixed by King Britt and vaulted to the top of the UK and European DJ charts, becoming an international dance floor staple. The song was named one of tunes of the year by UK magazine The Face and has since been featured on numerous compilations, earning Josh One a recognized name amongst tastemaker DJs and music lovers around the world. On the heels of "Contemplation’s" fire, Josh and an elite group of musicians returned to the studio to work on his first full length album, showcasing his talents as an artist and producer in his own right.

Narrow Path is the result of this collaboration with underground favorite MCs Aloe Blacc and Micah 9 as well as drummer Marshall Goodman (Sublime), trumpet player Printz Board (Black Eyed Peas), bassist Caleb Speir (Nikka Costa, Macy Gray), and vocalist Kandace Lindsey, to name a few. Ranging from moody down-tempo to break beat, nu-jazz, hip-hop, and even Latin rhythms, Narrow Path is a fusion of diverse sounds and styles. Reminiscent of the sounds of Zero 7, Madlib and The Roots, this unique and compelling blend of musical influences makes Narrow Path ideal for dancing, driving, or winding down.

A DualDisc is a two-sided disc made up of a CD on one side and a DVD on the other, DualDisc’s breakthrough technology allows one disc to have it all. A full album on the CD side. All sorts of special material on the DVD side, including the full album in a 5.1 Surround Sound, exclusive video content and lyrics. Producer Josh One's "Narrow Path" contains ten tracks of lazy grooves that range from R&B to hip-hop to jazz and soul. There's nothing groundbreaking here, or that you probably haven't heard in some form already on other CDs--comparisons of this CD have been made to The Roots and Zero 7 (hardly)--but it makes for a nice listen anyway on those lonely nights when you just wanna chill out with a bottle of something.

A word of caution: This is a "Dualdisc" which has a little more thickness than your average compact disc--so you may have trouble inserting and ejecting it in your car's CD player. When I did, it came out with all kinds of superficial scratches on it. Rest assured that it plays fine in your home CD/DVD player and offers a very relaxing visual landscape to accompany each track.

This is just the type of music to keep your brain engaged while your head is bopping up and down to the beat.

I am pulling this down in MP3 so i dont need to worry about the size and I dont do iTunes so I am straight there too.

This disc has some sort of DRM which won't allow it to be ripped to iTunes and therefore is useless as who even owns a CD player anymore?
