I watched these episodes as a kid and now I have tracked them down for my 4 year old, who also loves them. It seems only 5 of the episodes were ever released to DVD so to get the rest you would need to go either the VHS or Amazon Video on Demand routes.

I've seen some negative reviews from well-meaning parents complaining about "magic" being used to transport Margo, Derek and Moki back in time, but I don't think it's that big of a deal. The stories are very faithful to the Bible as far as I can tell, and at the end of each episode they list several pastors / reverends as consultants. I think it's amazing that a secular Hollywood outfit (Hanna-Barbera) even released this at all.

All of these episodes are very kid-friendly in my opinion, the most gruesome part being a rather bloody scene of David's stone hitting Goliath's forehead. There are also some some scenes of women dancing in bikini-style outfits during King Nebuchadnezzar's party, but all and all, these shows are absolutely wonderful in conveying the truth of the Bible in a fun, funny and interesting way.

Highly recommended!

This is a wonderful animated series. You will find yourself watching it over and over. The $25 price for the complete series is very nice as well. (Amazon Instant Video) Buying each episode separate on DVD would cost you around $5-$6 each & for all 13 you are looking at $65-$78 (And that is not including shipping and handling). With celebrity voice talents this is a must have animated series to own.

In Conclusion: The Greatest Adventure Stories From The Bible educates and informs children between the ages of 4-12 by teaching them positive values such as trust, faith, courage, and cooperation which are learned through animated adventures from biblical stories. Definitely worth the $25

The animation in these stories is somewhat basic however my kids love them, and I appreciate the attention to biblical accuracy. Even though I've told our 3/4/5 yr olds these stories many time, it's interesting to see how much better they internalize/understand the stories when given a visual. And who can resist the classic voice of Charlton Heston!

I grew up watching this series in the mid-80's. I was so excited to be able to order these for my children. They are 2 and 4 years old. They both were completely entranced! This is also an incredible value... Thanks, Amazon!

As a child I was bought these on vhs and fell in love. Growing up in a Southern Baptist Church Home we were limited on our choices. This is still one of my favorite shows and I can't wait to start showing them to my two boys. For those who don't like the story line I'm sorry but they are kid friendly stories from the Bible put into a format every child can understand. By watching these I learned a lot from them about the bible stories they told and finally understood the strokes from Sunday school. But please remember it is Hollywood's version but still they did a great job. I watched them over 100 times and am excited to watch them 100 more with my kids.

This is a great series. It is hard to find good bible stories for children... you wouldn't think so, but I have been looking and there is not much out there. These are wholesome, but sometimes not exciting enough to keep the attention of my 4 year old. Most of the episodes she really likes. The bible stories seem to be accurate for the most part and convey the intended message.

It's not a bad Bible show for young children but I do think the "time traveling characters" are somewhat sacrilegious at times; however, there aren't many good options out there lately and I'm grateful for this. Plus, the animation is fun and entertaining, even for parents. :)

My 6 year old loves these stories! I needed something to help teach her bible (homeschooling) without reading more as I have time restrictions. She watches these over and over again - well worth it!
