Amazing but pricy!,
This review is from: The Josquin Companion: with Audio CD (Hardcover)
This book is a terrific resource for those wishing to study Josquin in depth. It is especially insightful in light of recent scholarship that shows that Josquin was not at Milan. I used it for research into the Missa Pange Lingua. I believe in the value of solid musical scholarship, but this book is extraordinarily cost prohibitive. Unfortunately, it is priced only for library consumption. (The one star deduction is for cost only)

This must be read by anyone more than casually interested in this composer, but Oxford's pricing means you may have to settle for a trip to the nearest university library. I recommend reading the chapter on Josquin in Gustave Reese's absolutely indispensable MUSIC IN THE RENAISSANCE as well as the lengthy entry and works-list on this composer in the NEW GROVE first, but this first full-length study in English goes into considerably more detail and is more up-to-date than either, offering a treasure-trove of information.
