Book Description

This supplemental book is an excellent tool for students completing internships, observation/participation experiences, field work, student teaching and practicums in early childhood and elementary school settings. Through a host of techniques that encourage journaling, students are guided to record entries of curriculum ideas and teaching strategies they observe in the field. Sample observations help them get started, and journal forms in the final section teach students how to analyze their own teaching skills. The student becomes the author of what will be an invaluable personal resource and curriculum book of ideas they know to be successful.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is essential for student teachers!, November 13, 2003

This review is from: Write It Down! A Guided Journal of Ideas, Strategies and Reflections for Beginning Teachers (Paperback)
I am currently taking a class with Dr. Kolakoski (Dr. K for those of us lucky enough to have her as a teacher) ;) and I can't tell you how wonderful her classes are!

This book is such a wonderful supplement to the early childhood (and beyond) program, that already many of her students have purchased the book! I already love it and would highly recommend that anyone and everyone working with children-a student teacher or not-purchase this book! It is full of wonderful ideas and tons of space to document all your great (and sometimes not-so-great) teaching experiences. Your own personal notes will help later when you reflect on your teaching experiences. You'll be able to remember exactly how things went, and what you should change or not change the next time around!

Awesome book, Dr. K... And a MUST HAVE FOR ALL!!!
