I loved this book. Could hardly put it down. There were alot of pictures as well of Sorrel Wilbys travel thru Tibet. She made it all so interesting, telling about the country and the people she met along the way.

One of the reviewers is seemingly "not quite right" in his/her statements about this book and author. ( I have no connection to the author and do not know her or anyone associated...unfortunately!) This is a true story of a young woman who foregoes all comforts and "usual" safety to travel alone by foot in a remote Asian country and experience another culture without the "candy coating". This is the story of her experience along with discovering the truth and inner substance of her own being. I am very late 50's, have just returned from neighboring Bhutan and find this book meaningful, engaging, inspiring and am very happy I just "happened" to come across it. The negative review is truly off the mark. ( Perhaps the negative reviewer has not done much traveling or is unfamiliar with Asian countries, or being female traveling alone, or trekking...??) VERY Highly recommended.

I read this book recently and the author seemed like a "princess" rich bitch trekking across Tibet on her parent's dime. She did run into some harrowing moments, but never seemed to lose her "isn't it all wonderful" attitude toward the people around her. I can well imagine the reason why the natives were so caring, she paid as she went and spoke as if the natives were naturally just so wonderful. Everyone you are giving money to is "just so wonderful" I would rather have read a book about the hard realities of these places outside the bubble of a insulated money'd post college girl
