From the Author
Like the writer, Thomas Merton, I believe that
"every moment and every event of every man's life on earth plants something in his soul." After two safaris in Africa, I can indeed say that Africa has been planted in my soul. Following the publications of my books, Dancing Feathers and Dancing Petals, I went to Africa with my daughter, Lynne; granddaughters, Katie and Leslie Anne; and friend, Liz. The adventure was such a high for me visually and spiritually, I wanted to share it with you , my readers, ... my friends.
Most of us enjoy telling stories about our trips, and I'm no different from any other traveler. I hope that you will use your imagination and let the words and photographs embrace the moments, events, and places and dance you through the pages of Journey Into Africa. Experience the excitement of confronting the animals in the wild as we photograph and hunt; enjoy the humor of your fellow travelers and sense the spirituality in the sacred moments, as you come to know the exotic wildlife, landscapes and natives of Africa. Allow these words and photographs to "plant something in your soul" as you come with me and Journey Into Africa.
