Editorial Reviews

The Sunday Express described this album as the best album you haven't heard yet, and that just about sums it up. With supporters such as Elvis Costello, Mick (The Clash) Jones, Miles (The Wonderstuff) Hunt and of course the late great John Peel. Beat Crazy. 2005.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Journey, June 25, 2006

Amsterdam have had it rough. There have been more twists and turns in the story of this band than the plot of a David Lynch film. Despite this the lads have always believed steadfastly that they will succeed, and they have. This album is the story of love, hope, desire, pain, pleasure and delayed gratification. Every single song is beautifully crafted and there's something for every emotion you've ever experienced. There are no fillers in the piece, track after track reminds you what Real Music used to be and should be again. I urge anyone who is faintly interested to buy this album and see what all the fuss is about. You won't be sorry, and you'll find yourself at the mercy of one the decades' most musically pleasing and emotionally challenging albums. That, after all, is what it's all about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does this train stop on Merseyside?, June 25, 2006

This review is from: The Journey (Audio CD)
This album is brilliant and was released in October 2005 despite many hurdles which would have brought a lesser band to it's knees. It is strong, heartfelt, upbeat, down-at-heel and most of all it does what it says on the box - it's a musical Journey, and one which I urge you to take at the earliest opportunity. This album is the best few dollars you'll ever spend. But don't just take my word for it take a look at what others have said about the band - 'Amsterdam are incredible' Elvis Costello, 'Genuine greatness' The late great John Peel, 'F*cking great band' THEE Mick Jones.
