About the Author
Born in 1763, the brother of Joseph de Maistre, Xavier worked in various governmental posts. In Turin he was arrested for dueling, and was forced to serve sentence in house imprisonment. It was at that time in wrote his famed Voyage autout de ma chambre (1794). He also wrote other literary works.

This book is a work of total charm and will appeal to anyone that recognises adventure is a state of mind. That this book is not regarded as an international classic is testament to the paucity of imagination of book readers everywhere. Says more in its few pages than half of the wind bags manage in vollumes of sentimental clap trap. Buy it today.

I like this book, and it is interesting, but it's not worth the money. I would recomend it if you got it from the library.
