5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful meditation cd.
I was blown away by the authors cd. Jounrney to The Crystal Palace. Jackie Haverty's voice is so soothing I began to relax almost immediatly. The back round music is so beautiful it to had an effect on me. I could feel my body, it felt like it was buzzing because of the energy. I actually met a beautiful Unicorn on my meditation. I would highly reccomend this to anyone...

I bought this guided meditaton to assist me in reaching a meditative state in which I could conduct my dicursive meditation as practiced by some Druids. The "Journey" as it turns out centers on a passage taken from the Bible in the Book of Matthew, Chapters 5 and 13. "The Kingdom of Heaven, which lies within you" is the passage.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for some, Not for others, July 8, 2007
This review is from: Journey to the Crystal Palace: An Extra-Ordinary Guided Meditation (Audio CD)

This would make for excellent meditation for someone who is Christian or follows Christian Gnosticism. I myself am Druidic. Therefore being of Pagan belief and not necessarily believing in "Heaven" per se, I found the theme distracting and ineffective at inducing my meditative state.

Therefore, for me, it was no effective, but it would be ideal for some of different faiths. My advice, if you are pagan, go with some plain New Age music or record your own narrated guided meditation.

The background music is angelic, and so relaxing. It did however put me right to sleep. But that was a good thing for me, because I had been having a difficult time sleeping. It was the best nights sleep I had in months. I did however listen to the cd again the next day, while more awake. The music is beautiful and the concept is good. However Jackie does indeed smack her lips throughout and the sound quality could be greatly improved. Still overall it's a very nice journey.

Jackie has the annoying habit of smacking her lips after speaking...once you get past this, it is a very relaxing cd, but have seen nothing divine or otherwise.....

I really enjoy using this CD, and have for a few years now, but recently have put it towards the back of my pile of guided meditation CD's. Jackie has a very pleasant voice, and I do love the meditation, but........ the parts that have me not bothering to try another of hers, (and I really do like her), the lip smacking, I can get past, but I don't understand all the sounds I hear in the background, when it's very quiet, and I'm suppose to try to relax. All the sounds start right after you imagine all the 'white light' filling and surrounding our bodies for protection. It sounds like someone is dragging furniture around, or that she's cleaning her desk while she talks. I really do like this Cd, it's just hard to get into now, it seems like the sounds in the back have magnified now. I guess, your mind really does know when you're trying to block something out. I've blocked it for years, and now I can't do that very well anymore. If it weren't for the background, I'd want to buy more of her Cd's, she's that good. I still like listening to it, but now it goes into my daytime meditation file, when in use to be my nighttime meditation before falling asleep.

Jackie Haverty and Paul Armatage work great together; she is a renowned mediun and has a plesant voice while teaching you to meditate while Paul's music helps sooth and relax you. This is part 1 to her 2 CD's.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very good meditation cd., May 23, 2009
This review is from: Journey to the Crystal Palace: An Extra-Ordinary Guided Meditation (Audio CD)
I use a lot of meditation cd's and I am always on the look out for another good one. I suffer from insomnia and really like the ones that help me sleep. This one was really good, I was able to really meditate and then drift off to sleep. The first night I used it I slept better than I had in months and really felt refreshed and happy the next day.

Now with all that being said there is one part of it that bugs me and that is something that she does with her voice. When she speaks it sounds as though she is clicking her tongue. Just think of how your mouth feels when it is really dry and parched and you try to speak but your tongue sticks to the roof of your mouth. Well that is what it sounds like. At first it really bugged me but I finally, for the most part, have gotten past it. It is really a great cd.
