Listen to Sacramentum instead,
This review is from: Journey in Darkness (Audio CD)
Ophthalamia are often seen as sort of an overlooked gem in Swedish black metal, but for my money no one would care about them if they didn't have members of Abruptum and Dissection. Basically what you get is mid-paced black metal with a lyrical (i.e. "melodic") bent married with overblown Emperor fantasy/romanticism. It all has sort of a folksy prog rock vibe, which is novel, but the overstuffed riff salad arrangements and sloppy, lethargic guitar playing make it pointless.

DARK SWEDISH TALENT!!!!!!,

This review is from: Journey in Darkness (Audio CD)
There is no words or no other way to discirbe this work of art than EVIL TALENT!!!! These guys are amazing. Melodic, black and technical. If you like In flames, soilwork, dissection, then you will eat this up. Members of this band have been called satanists and they admit to it. Some members have been accused of murder along with a member of dissection. I dont agree with the whole satanic thing or the murder but its some interesting music. Makes you wonder sometimes about the people in this world. Its not just music!!
