4.0 out of 5 stars Each person has a personal journey...., March 21, 2009

This review is from: The Journey: An Extraordinary Guide for Healing Your Life and Setting Yourself Free (Paperback)
A friend suggested that I read this book and I ordered it here on amazon... I find that each person's journey when written in book form is here to reach out to certain individuals who have experienced similar life lessons... to recognize that we are all searching for our true self... I found this book very informative... but to all of you reading this... trust in your own guidance on whether this is the book to help you... I enjoyed it very much.

I focus in the physical "healing" malarky in the book, as it seemed to be the focus of the book.

In my opinion, she likes to hear herself talk. I don't know what happened to her medically, and really she doesn't either, since I expet she sould have included information on any biopsies or xrays or ct scans she might have done when her "tumor" was the size of a basketball. Without those I have basic credibility issues with the whole first part of the book. Then the rest of the book frequently slips into "well, you are sick, have cancer, have pains, only because of unresolved emotional issues". She then proposes that you can always cure these things by her process. If it isn't cured, then you must not have done the meditations right and need to "go depeer". I call B.S. No imangined "campfire" in my rectum with anyone in my past that I have some emotional issue with is going to cure my rectal cancer. It's just absurd.

Having said that, if you ignore 99% of the book and look for the gems in this book you will find that there is a method of resolving relationship issues. Either by personally resolving it or even by involving family members. That is a good thing if this method works for you. There are so many other programs and books out there that do this in ways that are so much more effective, in my opinion, that this book is a complete loss. I'm glad I bargain-hunted for it at a used price. I only read it at the recommendation of a friend whom I still have plenty of respect for.

Time for me to suggest some more productive titles to her I think :-)
