A Refreshing Return to Classic Sc-Fi!,

This review is from: Journey to the Farthest Planet (Starman Series) (Kindle Edition)
At Fifty-Something, I grew-up reading the Sci-Fi greats. Sadly to little of that style is found in today's Writers.
It seems most would-be Sci-Fi Writers of today have an axe to grind where politics, religion, race, homosexuality, et al is concerned; as such, their writing soon proves to be little more than a vehicle for them to propagate their views. The Writer(s) of the Starman series have gone a long way to restore my faith in the genre. They employ a compelling storyline; craft believable characters; and most importantly... AVOID digressing into making political commentary out of their stories! Hoo-Ray! A simple, straight-forward: Monsters are BAD, threaten us, and get KILLED for it story! It's truly refreshing that men are men, and women are delightfully feminine paradigm. The story will suck you in, and keep you wanting more. What more could you ask for? ONE thing... they're too short; but, for the price, still an excellent bargain. |
