Review

By Heather Froeschl (Callaway, Virginia)

You may remember being a child and asking why the sky is blue. You may still be asking this question, but you might also wonder why your aura is blue, or what an aura is, or what a chakra is, or why meditation seems to be a positive thing to practice. George E. Lockett's book, "A Journey Into the Self" might help to answer some of these questions for you, although I'm pretty sure he doesn't explain why the sky is blue.

George is a Spiritual Healer. His book is an offering of understandings; some of which you may have already heard about or thought about, or have just already known about. Our beings are wonderful things that seek out knowledge such as this. It isn't a study guide for there will be no test. It isn't a course in personal journey. It is a contribution to the signposts many of us hope to see along our spiritual paths. George first explains how he came to be where he is today in his life, and how he realized that synchronicity had led him to be a healer. Eighty short articles later, readers are left with a bit of understanding of many topics, from focused breathing to meditation, chakras to the use of crystals, telepathy to the purpose of death. Each article addresses a question, many of which most people have had at one time or another, and offers something to think about, a truth to examine, a possible goal to achieve. The purpose here is to share the information and let the reader do with it what they will. The higher purpose though, is to help make a positive change in the world. I don't see how it cannot.

The book is a gracious thing of strength, for it holds answers to many, hope for others, and an "ah ha" moment of validation to others still. Seeing what you personally have thought about in moments of epiphany, reading what you hold true in black and white, is a powerful thing. --This text refers to the Kindle Edition edition.

More About the Author

George E. Lockett was born in Aughton, Lancashire, United Kingdom in 1954. He has been focusing on personal development for the last 35 years. This has involved the study of Yoga and Meditation and turning the attention in on itself.

This process has led me to some amazing realisations and understandings about who the person is within the body and how this personal awareness interacts with the Universal Mind of the Creator God. George has developed his understanding into his book: A Journey into the Self.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent - informative and healing, May 16, 2006

This review is from: A Journey Into the Self: The multi-dimensional nature of being human (Paperback)
Touching and personal start with a difficult romance from the author's apprenticeship years, then leads on to intriguing insights ( how does he know how many petals there are on a chakra ? )

It is a very healing book which re-iterates important topics such as the power and need for forgiveness , with a call to all of us, that we can heal the planet and also the need to stay in the present moment, instead of living in the fear of projections into the past or the future. It goes on to offer sympathy for the arduous path of lightworkers, trying to revive ancient wisdoms, strangely absent from many religious texts.

This book is like a friend on the shelf to remind us that we keep getting drawn into illusions (of separation etc.), that could be pulled out and read, instantly lifting us from the doldrums with its clearly defined chapters, well worth a look.

The book is not meant to be read in one sitting but rather in many moments of quiet thought and questioning. It is a joyful tome to return to again and again.

George's words are calm and collected. The book is an apropos blend of common and higher thinking - for whoever is reading it will have varying degrees of questions. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will surely return to it often.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple ways to connect to Spirit, October 16, 2008
By
Christmas Camel (Locust Valley, N.Y.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Journey Into the Self: The multi-dimensional nature of being human (Paperback)

George Lockett's book A Journey Into the Self is real simple and therein lies the miracle!

Wow, can getting connected to spirit be available to anyone? Even someone who lives in a trailer park and doesn't have the fancy bank account for private yoga sessions and a fancy Hollywood spiritual adviser?
YES!

With George you don't get any phony baloney. He is a a good simple man with a simple message and gives gentle kind instruction to get you connected.

You might not blieve that this enlightened country farmer had the same Guru as The Beatles! What no one ever tells any one is that the Beatles got in a fight with their guru--perhaps fueled by various substances, and never talked to him again. It got the guru's name out at least but George Lockett from Western Wales is able for the first time to tell us first hand what he learned from the Beatles guru. What he learned is now available to us. What a gift.

Here is an example of George's straight forward simplicity:

"Raise your frequency with a loving smile."

That's right and it's that simple! George asks you to wake up and start your day with a smile. He asks you to feel the smile radiate through your body and then go out into the world from your energy field. Now even I can do that and so can you! His guided meditations are simple and easy to remember and do.

His life story wound through the text, is lovely and helps reinforce the certainty of a simple path to blissful consciuosness. The part where George tells of finding spirit through his sheep is amazing!!

This book is a "sleeper". Once word of mouth gets out he'll be on Oprah's couch for sure!

Whether you are a Nuclear genius or a TV watching couch potato this book will be a revalation that you are amazingly powerful and well equipped to work for and BE the highest good of mankind.
