About the Author

Dashama Konah Gordon, simply known as Dashama, is a yoga teacher, author, performing artist, and inspirational speaker. She cofounded the 30-Day Yoga Challenge, partnering with National Yoga Month (yogamonth.org), and is the star of five yoga DVDs. She lives in Santa Monica, CA.

I've been watching Dashama's free video's online for awhile now, and have always been amazed at the amount of herself she gives so freely. She's an absolute encyclopedia of yogic knowledge, with wisdom that's sometimes hard to believe from such a young person. This book captures her insights and has catapulted my own practice 10 fold. It motivated me to bravely move forward in my own journey, which is what I was looking for. She also offers additional references, which I appreciate, for when I feel I've mastered what she offers here. The narratives between the suggestions for the asana's are great because it gives context - she talks about how to beat addictions, emotional prison keepers (like judgement) as well as where those mental decisions affect you physically. I highly recommend this book. I highly recommend Dashama.

I have said it before and I will say it again, this book has the potential to change the world.
Its message is simple yet profound and Dashama writes in a way that is approachable and applicable for everybody.

Read it and use it and you will see improvements in your life.

As the book title promises, this really is an excellent guide on how to live a more Joyful life. I found the book had a really powerful and positive message. It contains some quite advanced yoga concepts in a very easy to read and enjoyable form. Best of all I can attest, having had the honour of spending a little time with Dashama, that she truly is very qualified to guide you into a more joyful life. Her energy and presence is joyful and full of positive energy. Thank you Dashama for sharing this empowering message with the world.

This book provides for a great introduction to the values and practices that make yoga so appealing to many. It breaks yoga down to a science but doesnt stray way from the philosophy and teachings to show you how to fill your life with bliss and joy. This book has helped me to find more in my every moment and it is priceless to me because of that. I picked it up with the Renew You program on her website and i tell all my friends about it who are looking for ways to find more understanding, acceptance and purpose in life. I look forward to Dashamas next release.

I have read and re-read this book two times since I originally purchased it. I am about to begin it again! Dashama has a beautiful way with words and she inspires us to live creatively and incorporate yoga and healthy living into our daily lives. I am also taking her 30 day yoga challenge and the book and course go hand in hand! What a blessing she is to the yoga world, great book ... inspiring teacher and beautiful soul!

I am from the southern United States, where yoga exists but is very rare. I, like many people, started off just watching Dashama's Youtube videos. Then she released her DVD and it started my path into yoga. I was doing yoga mostly for loosing weight- and it worked. With Dashama's DVD and the 30 day yoga challenge (30dyc.com), and in going to her Bali TT Retreats, I have lost alot of weight in the past year, but this book also sent me all over the world to learn pranashama yoga from Dashama and other members of the pranashama institutes. This has helped me so much in my yoga practice and emotional life. My favorite thing about this book is that it doesnt matter what religeon or beliefs you have. You can take control of your emotional, physical, and spiritual life through the positions in this book. This book will remain in my library for the rest of my life, because it has changed my life and set me on a new path, giving me more hope for the future- allowing me to live in the present and love myself for what I am now. Even during the dark times, I find solace in Dashama's book. A++
