5.0 out of 5 stars Hidden Treasure, September 18, 2000

Ted Goodfleisch (Piermont, NH USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Journey into Kashmir and Tibet (Hardcover)
Although the bulk of this book is worth reading for its detailed description of the author's 1923 trip, its real value for me is in Appendix 2, which is the complete text of an English translation of a French translation of a Russian translation of a Tibetan translation of a document written about the life of Jesus in the Pali language. The document begins with Moses and the Exodus and describes the activities and travel in the East of Jesus from age 12 to 29. Jesus apparently achieved fluency in Sanskrit, Pali and Tibetan. Along with his Hebrew/Aramaic, probable knowledge of the ubiquitous Greek and maybe some Latin, this gives a picture of Jesus as a scholar more than a carpenter and establishes Buddhism as one foundation of Christianity.

This review is from: Journey into Kashmir and Tibet (Hardcover)
this book is one of a kind standing in line with others, documenting and proving, that jesus was in india and developed here his spiritual power. also books like Jesus The Book] or [[ASIN:091676687X The Lost Years of Jesus: Documentary Evidence of Jesus' 17-Year Journey to the East are telling us about this. some more scientific, some more in a way that ring true.....who ever is in search for the truth should read these books.

This is a very detailed account of a journey by a famous Indian Swami into the hinterland of the Himalayas. He makes amazing finds recorded on ancient scrolls at a buddhist monastery about Jesus's life before and after the crucifixion. Great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gnostic View, August 21, 2011

This review is from: Journey into Kashmir and Tibet (Hardcover)
The book presents some very interesting information in the form of a simple daily record of a trip that provides support for the possibility that Jesus survived the crusifixtion. Jesus' reported studies in Kasmir before and after the crusifiction and ascetic practices of self mortification in this area of the world that are similar to what Jesus experienced on the cross with a similar time frame for recovery aren't trivial pieces of data to support his survival of the crusifiction. The three day waiting period for burial of the locals in that part of the world implies that it may have been incorporate to aviod burying someone going through the same recovery that Jesus may have experienced. The reports that Jesus' trips to Kasmir may have covered the same area that Abraham may have come from and the lost tribes of Israel may have gone to also provides support for the continuity of growth of religion; that is the basis of Gnostic philosophy.
