5.0 out of 5 stars Saying it as it is !, April 5, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: The Journey of Life Eternal (Paperback)
This is not a usual new-age Guru type simple spiritual feel-good book with ready-made bulleted insights. Rather it is a factual and authentic description of the struggles, challenges and enormous difficulties one will face when living by the spiritual principles. Thanks to the current wave of fashionable spirituality books, one tends to assume that spirituality and living life by spiritual principles is easy and fun. But all the religions of the world agree that understanding and living life by spiritual principles is a tough job. Dr. Shahmardaan's book is a wake-up call to the neo-spiritual seekers to re-direct their attention on the timeless truths of spiritual *sadhana* (consistent efforts ) to purify oneself and surrender oneself to the divine. This is not an arm-chair easy book to read. Read it only if you are ready to embark on the ultimate journey to discover life. For those who are interested in quick & easy spirituality, this book is not for them. They should keep away from such books. In fact Dr. Bahram can easily add a caution on the front page - Readers Beware - The following pages may destroy your complacency and awaken you for a greater adventure and the ultimate journey - The journey of life eternal. Read at your own risk !

5.0 out of 5 stars To those who wish to know, this book is a keeper, September 4, 2004
This review is from: The Journey of Life Eternal (Paperback)
This book serves the needs of arm chair philosophers but much more importantly, it provides real answers to deep spiritual questions for those amongst us who are true seekers. The book gives the tools with which each one of us can realize the goal of life which is open to all.

Dr. Shahmardaan's explanations are very clear and the content very uplifting. The material will both support and miff those who claim that there is only one Master chosen by the Divine to lead mankind back to the Source from which we all became.

Anyone who has an open mind will truly appreciate this book and it may help to open the minds of those who because of their own insecurities and false sense of superiority have shut the world out of their lives.

To help the readers, unlike many authors, by providing his contact information in the book Dr. Shahmardaan shows real concern for his audience.

This is truly a wonderful gift to manking. A gift if received by many will surely help mankind inch its way towards peace and harmony.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Total Committment or None At All........, June 14, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: The Journey of Life Eternal (Paperback)
The most powerful idea and the most challenging concept was on page 124, where Dr. Shahmardaan presents the road ahead as choosing either: a.) Giving ourselves up to the challenge -(surrendering) or b.) Discarding the book, as our only options.
In a very real sense, I understood then, that: we either choose to take 'THE' road or we postpone it.
In reviewing the points that I jotted down (and found their way into my spiral notebook), I realized that the words and phrases that resonated with me, were for the most part, not things that I necessarily wanted to hear, but things that, (I have now learned ) I needed to hear.
So,in the process of devouring Dr. Bahram R. Shahmardaan's principles and concepts, I would get stuck on words like "surrender" and jot it down and then say Why? (I even looked it up inthe dictionary) The more I kept reading, the more I understood that 'surrendering' has nothing to do with submitting at all. In fact it is its opposite. I now understand that, 'Surrender is voluntary and is a result of humility born of love'.
There were other principles that reaffirmed my own beliefs, and understanding of certain concepts; these were the principles that I have grown into along my journey, and hold dear at this time in my life. Of course no sooner did I feel that I was on a 'pretty good' road, he jolted me out of my complacency by challenging me on yet another 'area' along my road, my "journey of life"
I especially like the way the book ASKS a lot of questions not tells a lot of answers directly, as if to challenge us:
"Are you a Source or an Anti-Source?"
"Do we act out of fear or out of love?"
The reason this appeals to me is that I think the author is aware that people don't like to be told what to do but rather be brought about by 'nudging'
Dr. Shahmardaan has given some very powerful conepts and priciples that can propel us to take on the challenges of our journey with open eyes; concepts that arm us with a different way of looking at ourselves and the world. I like to describe this as "looking through different lenses". Following these principles would produce more peaceful and productive unions within our society:
"Be watchful, not reactive" (If we would follow this advice, it would stave off a lot of family squabbles, violence in families, and in society)
"When the disciple is ready to meet the MASTER, then the MASTER will create the conditions..." (Having this faith, would teach us patience)
This reader appreciates that Dr. B.R. Shahmardaan has taken insights and put them into practical do-able daily 'way of life' for anyone to avail themselves of.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Journey, March 30, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: The Journey of Life Eternal (Paperback)
I have searched for the Red Phone to God for many years. I asked God for clarity and direction and this book was put in front of me within days. I don't believe that things happen by chance. I took this seriously and I have read, reread and studied this book for 6 months. The basic premise of how to reach that Red Phone is very clearly outlined with multiple examples and ideas. One of my issues with 'religion' has been the statement that you have to be 'X' religion in order to find God or to make it to heaven. Bahram clearly addresses this in a very natural way. I believe this book is annointed and is a pure guide to living your life in harmony with God's principles. I encourage and I pray that Mr. Shahmardaan will write more books to help us all complete our Journey of Life Eternal. I know that my life's journey has begun with the power of God's creative force as the driver.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mirror of the Truth, December 30, 2003
By
This review is from: The Journey of Life Eternal (Paperback)
This book is a masterpiece of philosophical and religious insight. It's language may be lucid and banal but it's ideas and principles are complex and lofty. It is a book to be read with an open mind and a clear concsience. Only then will the light from this deep insight truly illuminate.
Mr. Shahmardaan's insights rank right up there, amongst the great Masters and mystics of the modern era like J Krishnamurthy,Ramana Maharishi and Osho.

4.0 out of 5 stars Roadmap to eternal life, December 9, 2003

This review is from: The Journey of Life Eternal (Paperback)
I found this book to truly be one of the most insightful;least
pretentious; and mind challenging books on life's meaning. The way the author leads the reader through his formative years and the hours of meditation and discipline he put into understanding the Human mind and our spiritual self, is enough to have one read the book over and over again. More importantly, the purpose of the book is to give each reader the starting point to search out and realize their own potential for traveling their own "journey of life eternal". If for no other reason, one should get this book to have access to the Seven Spiritual Principles the author describes for the first time anywhere.
Thanks to the author for this life changing work.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Journey of Life Eternal, November 23, 2003
By
This review is from: The Journey of Life Eternal (Paperback)
An excellent reading for those who seek peace and harmony not only for themselves, but also to assist others through the current crisis happening in the world. The author takes one through the internal journey he travelled and shares with us his insights in a clear and easy way. The distinctions presented in the value of opinions, the art of listening, and what is a civilised man, is worth every penny.
What is also of value is the integration of the various ancient and mordern philosophies of the world.
A must reading for all who want to understand about life, and have freedom.
