It is vital that the patient and their families understand the importance of choices of treatment and the possible side effects.This is basically a diary of one patient who has been able to survive five (5) years at this writing. The road can be challenging, but healing is possible if discovered and treated quickly. This book will help the patient and their families to better deal with this deadly disease.

About the Author

Rev. Dr. Calvin E. Rains, Sr. served 58 years as a Baptist minister. He retired because he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and the chemotherapy was upsetting his emotions. He served in WWII as a Carrier based Fighter Pilot. He saw action against Japan. He was wounded once and received the Purple Heart and the Air Medal.After WWII he became a minister. In his studies he earned four degrees from three institutions. Rev. Rains returned to active Navy Service for the Korean War as a Military Chaplain. He served various Navy Bases and served as a Chaplain with the U. S. Marines in Korea. While a military Chaplain he also served as Prison Chaplain and counselor. He also served in a Navy hospital counseling young men, who had lost arms, legs, etc. in the war in Korea to help them adjust to a new future.He has had extensive service with HOSPICE dealing with terminally ill persons and CONTACT, a twenty-four-telephone crisis ministry.Rev. Rains continues to minister to others who have been diagnosed as a terminal patient. He is the published author of many articles and two books, "Teach Me How to Die" for the terminally ill and "Thorn in the Flesh" a fictional account of the probable marriage of Saul of Tarsus.

I was looking to buy an informational book on Pancreatic Cancer to help me and my wife understand this Disease and your description of this book seemed to fit my needs. Instead this is a book written by a religious nut discussing his faith and prayer sessions and how he enlisted 100 other like minded people with the same leanings to pray for him then how they prayed for each other etc. Not what I wanted and not what you advertised.
