Having enjoyed Sierra's slightly new musical direction on their last release, Change, I have looked forward to hearing more from them. "The Journey" is Sierra's newest release. I consider this to be their best work to date. If you like anything Sierra has done in the past, you'll probably love this. The harmonies are tighter than ever from the gals and the songwriting is topnotch.
There are a lot of female groups out there these days, but Sierra are unique and very special. I would encourage everyone who likes Christian music to rush out and buy this cd!
Great songs, encouraging lyrics, memorable melodies makes "The Journey" a great one to take!

Let me first say that i absolutely LOVE this cd! I have followed Sierra since their debut album in 1994 and have always liked what they released. When "Change" hit stores in 2000 i bought it and was blown away. The girls came alive with that album. I kept hoping they would make another album and years went by until, while browsing here on amazon.com i came across "The Journey". The production date is 2001 so i snatched it right up. Why wasn't this album promoted at all? The opening song, "I Will Exalt the One" is a great showcase of their harmonies. "Carry Me" is the absolute best song that they have EVER done. Its simple but the chorus and the choir singing with them at the end just brings a chill to my spine. "That's What I Know" is the 3rd song and a very fun upbeat number. There are 4 ballads on this album and all of them are wonderful. Sierra unleashes a power that i really didn't know they had. I hope they reunite and make another album of this calibur soon.
