Living in America, we as a population are subjeced to so many reality shows, one sometimes wonders why we watch tv at all. One show in particular, 'American Idol'. At times i don't care who wins, as my money will buy a cd of a performer who is good. Not fabricated.
Cruising on YouTube, I was curious on the UK's version, which is called 'X-Factor'. I was knocked out by Journey South's vocals and stage presence. I indeed had to buy their cd (released in 2006), and was amazed on how good these brothers are.
My favorite, 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face'. One of the best versions of the song, save Roberta Flack's.
A well-rounded album, not one song is filler. Just good songs, sung very well.
A must have!

This is an amazing cd, the sound is pure, the voices are strong, and while it is all covers Journey South does them all justice. I am looking forward to the next CD.

I found it quite by accident. I don't live in the UK, so I never heard of X Factor. The first song I heard was the cover 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For'. It was tight and had a good sound.
While this albums are all covers, their acoustic, non-alternative sound is a refreshing change to most new music. It would, however, be nice to hear some original stuff.
