The reader who described this book as unrealistic prompted me to post this review. My wife, the subject of the book, is certainly not the same as she was before the accident, but the level of recovery she demonstrates is truly remarkable. Misti is actively involved in brain trauma support groups, and I have attended several meetings as well. In comparison to others who face the daily struggle of life with brain trauma, Misti's recovery is amazing.

The purpose of the book was to offer hope to those facing the difficult experience of recovery from brain trauma by sharing a personal experience blessed with a positive result. It is certainly anecdotal in nature because it is the specific story of Misti and her family, but it is absolutely true.

We thank God daily for the blessings He has given Misti and we pray that many others may also find a full life following a devastating brain injury.

I READ THIS BOOK IN A DAY, AND RUSHED IT OFF TO MY SISTER. HER SON SUFFERED A SEVERE CAR ACCIDENT ON 2/17/02. MISTI'S STORY GIVES ME SUCH HOPE FOR MY NEPHEW GEOFFREY. I KNOW THE ROAD WILL BE HARD BUT WITH GOD, LOVE AND TIME I KNOW HE WILL COME BACK TO US. I CAN'T THANK THE AUTHOR ENOUGH FOR THIS BOOK. IN MY OPINION THIS WOMAN IS A SAINT. THANKS AGAIN SO MUCH FOR THE WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT

When I read this book I was in a hospital waiting room and thought there was no way out. This book gave me encouragement and hope that perhaps my child could also fight this injury if I stayed and helped. It has been a year and we are still working and most likely will continue for a long time, but the book gave me hope and the will to continue. Thanks to Louise Morningstar we will continue to work and continue to pray for the miracle she proved possible. Cindi

This book is a must for the families and loved ones of a brain trauma patient. It gives the reader hope when you feel there is none and truly makes you believe in miracles. At the same time, it honestly portrays the hardships endured by both patient and family members. Louise Morningstar tells all sides of the story - good and bad. It is an inspiring and beautifully written book.

As a mother of a 14yr old son who suffered a TBI on may 27,1998, I could totally relate to this mother's agagonizing journey to help her child find the way back. No one can ever understand the experience of traumatic brain injury until they go through it...I wish it on no one.

This book has helped me deal with my own daughter's brain trauma. Each brain injury is different, but I could relate and take hope from Misti's experience.

A "must read" book for anyone faced with a catastrophic accident or illness. An uplifting, heartwarming account of how a mother,s love and determination, with the help of a higher power, can conquer insurmountable odds.

The entire point of this book is that there is hope coupled with a generous amount of faith and caring. I suffered a brian trauma due to a massive infection on Christmas day last year. and I was not given much of a chance of survival. The infection spread to my brain, and I was in another world for a straight six weeks. I am now recovering, and back to my old hobby of building and maintainng computers. I had read this book approximatley two monnths before my illness, and it was refreshing to see how Misti, with the strong faith of her parents came through this teribble ordeal, and is still on the road to recovery.

I recommend this book as great reading material for those that still have hope and believe in miracles.

I am writing this review because what happened to this member of my family is all too real.

My Aunt Louise presented her story in a way that is easy to understand and to send a message of hope to other families who have had the misfortune to go through something like this.

I understand it may be hard for someone who has never experienced a miracle to take all this it... but it is true.

When you go through what Misti did , everything is not perfect but it doesn't have to be, what matters is that we still have her with us. It really is a miracle.

My 10 year ols son went through a severe brain injury also 3 years ago. Most do not go off to college etc... I have been going through this too living at arehab hospital. Misty was very lucky. Most have a severe memory problem or speech problems. Quite a few never walk again. They experience severe spasicty that never allows fine motor skills. If you take this book with a grain of salt and realize this is one success story and remember there are alot more stories that will never end like this then it is a"bearable" book. Please if your loved one suffers from this injury, be REALISTIC. This is a "happy ending" book. Most real stories are not. I noticed family responded to the negative review. While I do feel for you, I do not feel it's fair to the public to have unrealistic views of a brain injury. Many of these people's children will not walk, talk,or even come out of a coma. Misty's recovery even through years of grief, was a miracle. Not everyone is granted that!!
