2.0 out of 5 stars Not much about fishing..., February 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: A Journey Through John Muir Country (Paperback)
This book has many nice pictures of the Sierras; however, there is very little information about fishing. Reading the description for the title leads one to believe that this is a book about fishing along the John Muir Trail. There are some trail descriptions for the area; however, most of the descriptions say nothing about the fishing opportunities along the trail. If you are looking for books on fishing the Sierras then take a look at the Sierra Trout Guide by Ralph Cutter. I gave this book two stars because it had some really nice pictures of places that I have visited in the sierras.

This review is from: A Journey Through John Muir Country (Paperback)
An amazing fact filled book, with outstanding photographs awaits the serious trout fisherman. This compilation of stories garnered from the authors extensive travels, covers most of the famed trails explored by John Muir himself.Filled with important details and required information for the adventurous angler author Don Vachini comes as close as one can get to putting the reader in the scenic beauty of the John Muir trail without getting up from your favorite armchair.Beautiful photographs accompany the descriptive text and awe-inspiring feeling of "landing a Bow" in the high mountain wilderness. This book and photographic essay are a must read for the serious sportsman. Enjoy it and then discover the beauty of the John Muir trail for yourself.
