I couldn't put it down...I found myself cheering for Michele from the first page. I believed in her and couldn't wait for the point in the story that she believed in herself as well. Truly an amazing story written and a must read for anyone that needs a reminder to believe and have a little "faith", not only in others, but in themselves.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters and thought the storyline was good. I liked how Michele was able to overcome her addictions and see the plan God had in store for her. Can't wait for the next book in this series!

I loved that this story, although one of faith, is grounded in the real world where terrible things happen and people make choices that sometimes have horrific consequences. I loved Michele, the main character and it was wonderful to see her transformation throughout the story. There were multiple spelling and grammatical errors that drove me crazy at times, that is why I gave it a 4. Looking forward to more from this author!!

Journey to Almighty was definitely a different kind of Christian fiction than I was used to. Michele is a drug abuser and alcoholic who doesn't really seem to have anything going for her. After she finds out she's pregnant, and gets beat nearly to death by her boyfriend, she actually gets some chances to change herself and give her baby a chance. The big question in the book though is will she really take full advantage of this chance? Will she give God a chance to make her whole again?

The book description was intriguing to me, and I think it lived up to my expectations. Journey to Almighty was well written and the story moved along at a pretty good pace. There was a good story line, and for the most part it was believable. There were a few things I would have liked to see differently, but these are more personal preferences than anything else.

For one, I felt like the boyfriend's role was not given as much attention as it should. We do see that he is dangerous, but then for a good portion of the book you don't hear anything from him. I feel like if he was as dangerous as the book implies he would not have been quiet in Michele's life as long as he was. He left her alone for a several week stretch, and I personally don't think that would have happened.

I also felt like towards the end of the book, Michele's new friendship with her first real girl friend needed some elaboration. Several times in the book, you find Michele worrying about what her friend would think of her if she knew her past. Once Michele's past can't help but be brought to light, you don't hear anything about the friend's reaction. I just feel that with the importance placed on Michele's concern regarding this issue, it should have been addressed.

Tina Klinesmith's Journey to Almighty was a wonderful story. Enough so that I was willing to forfeit comfort and sit in front of a computer screen while reading it straight through. While it suffered some of the same proofreading oversights that many ebooks unfortunately share the story and characters were well written and very engaging. The main character's journey to acceptance, faith, and love make this a great discussion book. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and will be looking forward to reading some of the author's other books.

I won a copy of Journey to the Almighty through the Goodreads' Firstreads program.

Michele Ramirez has turned to alcohol and drugs - a life of crime with her boyfriend Cam. Although he is abusive, Michele believes in her haze that she does not deserve any better. JOURNEY follows Michele on her path towards taking back her life. Along the way she meets David and his father; finally men she can look towards as role models. Finding God is the last thing on Michele's troubled mind, but God has a way of finding the lost...

I read this fairly quickly, and it is by no means a difficult read. What made this book most enjoyable was Klinesmith's ability to create characters you want to care about. The dialogue, emotion, and action are spot-on - I wanted to know how Michele was doing throughout the day.

As someone who crawled out of a troubled past, JOURNEY was comforting in the shared experience fashion. It is amazing how God can help you overcome insurmountable odds to find a bright future. I enjoyed the bits of scripture exchanged in truly difficult moments.

I can't wait to read book 2! Happy reading :)

Good first book to a two book series. Clean read about God's love and salvation. Looked forward to reading the second book in the series.
