Book Description

January 13, 2008
Journey to Wholeness represents the first sequence of a planned trilogy based upon my lived experiences among the Gullahs of the Sea Islands of South Carolina. Gullahs are the decendants of enslaved Africans residing along the coastal regions of our southeastern United States. Journey to Wholeness illustrates the value of indigenous culture in postmodern times. The introduction suggests the advancement of technology and mass consumption have introduced an entirely different set of circumstances for the individual in society. The storylines imply indigenous knowledge may be a panacea for the maladies of postmodern American culture. Journey to Wholeness is a collection of short stories best described as creative non-fiction written for the entertainment and enlightenment of the general reading population.
