Book Description

Earth Chronicles Expeditions September 22, 2007
The continuing autobiographical account of the investigations and discoveries that led to The Earth Chronicles series

• Zecharia Sitchin reveals for the first time how his life was at risk inside the Great Pyramid and documents the existence of a secret chamber

• Reports on Vatican encounters, the Iceman of the Alps, the Antikythera computer, the temples and Ruts of Malta--and offers a solution to the enigma of the Nazca lines

In Journeys to the Mythical Past, the sequel to The Earth Chronicles Expeditions, the renowned researcher of antiquity Zecharia Sitchin tells his own story of an indefatigable dedication to finding the truth that almost cost him his life--accidentally or otherwise--when uncovering secrets of the Giza pyramids and Sphinx. Exposing hidden artifacts that contradict establishment assumptions dedicated to preserving the status quo or that baffle scientists when forced to show them, Sitchin’s firsthand accounts of his explorations take the reader into the inner workings of the Vatican, the enigma of a futuristic computer from millennia ago, and the secret handiwork of a Divine Architect at Stonehenge, at Malta, and at a site in the Americas.

Looking deep into antiquity, Sitchin offers astounding evidence that links the Nazca lines and a baffling adjoining site to the Departure from Earth of the Anunnaki, the ancient gods who, he believes, vowed to Return.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"It is well worth the price of admission to witness this bestselling author, investigator, and scholar in action, up-close and personal." (
Fate, Jan 2008
)

"The author nearly lost his life in the process of exposing a long-kept secret; his firsthand accounts of his exploration range from Egypt to the Vatican and provides a range of excellent insights." (
The Midwest Book Review, Dec 2007
)

" . . . a great addition to our Sitchin library. . . . it brings new proof that things weren't quite what the history books say they were when it comes to both technologies that were available in the past and the types of people and beings that wandered this earth before us." (

ARCHAEOLOGY / ANCIENT MYSTERIES

In Journeys to the Mythical Past the renowned researcher of antiquity Zecharia Sitchin reveals, for the first time, the existence of a secret chamber in Egypt’s Great Pyramid, and he tells his own story of an indefatigable dedication to finding the truth that almost cost him his life--accidentally or otherwise--when uncovering secrets of the Giza pyramids and Sphinx. Exposing hidden artifacts that contradict establishment assumptions or that baffle scientists, Sitchin’s firsthand accounts of his explorations take the reader into the inner workings of the Vatican, the enigma of a futuristic computer from millennia ago, and the secret handiwork of a Divine Architect at Stonehenge, at Malta, and at a site in the Americas.

Looking deep into antiquity, Sitchin offers astounding evidence that links the Nazca Lines and a baffling adjoining site to the Departure from Earth of the Anunnaki, the ancient gods who, he believes, vowed to Return.

ZECHARIA SITCHIN (1920-2010), born in Russia and raised in Palestine, had a comprehensive knowledge of modern and ancient Hebrew and other Semitic and European languages, the Old Testament, and the history, archaeology, and cultures of the Near East. He was distinguished by his ability to read and translate Sumerian and other ancient texts. A journalist and editor in Israel for many years, he later made his home in New York City.

More About the Author

Zecharia Sitchin is an internationally acclaimed author and researcher whose books offer evidence that we are not alone in our own solar system. One of a handful of scholars able to read the Sumerian cuneiform tablets, he has combined archaeology, ancient texts, and the Bible with the latest scientific discoveries to retell the history and prehistory of mankind and planet Earth. His trailblazing books have been translated into more than twenty languages; his first one, an oft-quoted classic, celebrates the thirtieth anniversary of its publication. A graduate of the University of London and a journalist and editor in Israel for many years, he now lives and writes in New York.

Sitchen has written an interesting description of his travels in search of documenting his previous books on the Annunaki and also his near death attempt. The book is chock full of photographs and his documentation is there for all to see that the etraterrestrials have been here and left us a legacy. For those who have a desire to understand our historical origins and heritage, I recommend this book. Bettye Johnson, award winning author, Secrets of the Magdalene Scrolls.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, July 11, 2008
This review is from: Journeys to the Mythical Past (Earth Chronicles Expeditions) (Hardcover)
Don't let the bad publicity against Mr. Sitchin influence your mind.
Many jealous people and especially failed writers hate him.
We all understand that.
There is a person in America who asked the authorities to put him in jail.
Crazy!
Only in America people massacre others with dirty words,
personality assassination and personal hatred. What they do?
They are incapable of writing successful books
so they began to throw dirt from their mouth
and snake-style criticism.

Mr. Sitchin is a remarkable writer.

Respected all over the world.

I collect all his books.

S. Mahdi, Cairo, Egypt.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mysteries are never solved, October 26, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Journeys to the Mythical Past (Earth Chronicles Expeditions) (Hardcover)
Like the previous book (Journeys) this one also has superb hard-to-get and never-seen-before color photographs which accompany several interesting stories about Sitchin journeys. There are fewer stories than in the previous Expeditions book and they are not as deep and full, though not bad at all. Much of the material is references to other books of the 12th Planet series, so if one has not read them before - this book is not the best place to start.
One of the very good observations in the book is about the fact the ME antique authorities and also the population do their uttermost to discourage or prevent archeological discoveries to be done by Westernes, that may shatter the dogmatic nationalistic ethos about history, culture and roots on the current Middle East inhabitants. That really explained me all these tensions around the digs that regulary appear in the news.
One thing that looked strange was the fact that in the both journey books, while describing the Sitchin fans voyages, it looks like each time there is a really intriguing site or place or event to visit or to attend, Sitchin dispatches the accompanying group back to the hotel or back to the USA, and proceeds by himself or with his wife or one of confidants only - this pattern leaves a suspision that this pack of sucker fans is probably used just to cover Sitchin travel expences - I hope I'm wrong - but that's the impression...
