The flashlight and the ability to change time zones easily were the big draw. However, the usability of this thing is awful. Worst aspect is you can't turn off the alarm, so it goes off every day. Also, the backlight is mediocre (at best) and the clock face was too small for me.

The alarm tones were cheap and there was no way of locking out the buttons so they don't get pressed in your bag.

Lastly, it was bigger than I expected, and ultimately not worth the space in my luggage.

I took this to Europe and was dismayed that it kept automatically changing time zones. The alarm was unreliable because I never knew when the clock would decide to automatically switch times on me.

Cons: Different types of batteries are required for LED light and for clock which makes it a pain when you need to put new ones in. Plus, the glichy times changing issue.

Pros: The flashlight is very bright.

Would not recommend.

Maybe the item I received is defective. My eyes are 20/20, so the clock changing time zones was not due to bad eyesight. Also, asking for a clock not to automatically change time zones isn't being super critical. =D

In times of dire distress i.e. earthquake in an L.A. hotel 4th floor at night, electricity gone, no phone, no elevator, not a clue as to where the staircase is, this is the gadget to have with you. Yes this did happen to me and I wish I would have had this item at that time. It's multifunction usage is the best for both usage and money. I have routinely given for any occassion these as gifts to my family and friends. We have had several in our home for the past year and I highly recommend it to everyone whether for travel or home. We also never remove the ones in our suitcases.
