Book Description

www.journeysofwonder.com

Journeys of Wonder is a new anthology of genre fiction. We’ve assembled three talented writers to bring you five chilling tales that are guaranteed to keep you up at night – or at least make you turn on the lights.

Featured in this first volume:

The Door: Six people are stuck in a room with no memory of how they got there while a fear of the unknown keeps them from opening the only exit they have.

Blackout: A terrifying tale of a young woman whose memory is shattered and a creepy neighbor who is not all that he seems.

Infinity: Two brothers, forced to travel through time to save the world from an unspeakable evil, have little idea of what they have actually gotten themselves into.

Eye of the Wolf: A young girl struggles against the power of the full moon as she tries to hide her deadly secret from her family.

Afterdeath: In a future where our journey beyond death is no longer a mystery, the promise of eternal love waits, unless you break the rules.

5.0 out of 5 stars Book Dripping with Fright, Must Read September 14, 2012
Format:Paperback
The great points of the book
I liked reading Journeys of Wonder because it gave me something different in each story. The writing is awesome, the stories were totally different each time. Some dark, scary, others kind of morbid, some stories left you in shock. I loved two short stories in particular titled The Door, which happens to be the first one in the book. Second one I really liked was titles Infinity, I then also noticed they were from the same author. Not to say that all the stories I didn't enjoy as I really enjoyed reading them all, just those 2 were my favorite.
This book is a short read with hopefully alot more to come. I also thought that the cover was very inviting, the authors stayed true to the genre with this cover! Liked it!!! This is a must read especially for Halloween coming up if you want a good scare!

In the story The Door, which happens to be my favorite, I really just thought about the Saw at first, people locked in a room with something they were all trying to figure out to get to the conclusion. About mid-story I figured out what was going on but the play out of that story was completely mind-blowing. Made me stop at the end and think I hope that is not how it goes in real life.

There are many stories that leave you thinking WOW, I pictured an ending totally different. That's what I loved about Journeys of Wonder!!

Things I did not like about the book
Shortness of some of the stories, I have read short stories from Edgar Allan Poe before so I know that some leave you wanting more and that is just what this book did, but I need more in some of the stories. Technically this is not a bad point but as good as this book was I had to pick something I didn't like about it!

I hope that there is more to these volumes soon, because if you are a horror/scary genre person like myself you too will love this book.

I received this book FREE from the author for a 100% honest review

5.0 out of 5 stars =>Julie Musil loved this book! June 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I loved reading "Journeys of Wonder," in a chilling, boogieman, afraid to close my eyes kind of way. Great, short stories that read fast, with as many twists and turns as full-length novels.

Awesome! I'm no longer going to feel comfortable trusting time, my neighbours & family, opening doors, and putting off until tomorrow what I should do right now. Great stories - I raced right through them! :)

2.0 out of 5 stars not very wonderful
I should just learn not to bother with short stories, I'm nearly always disappointed. I have read a few good sci-fi ones though, so I'm every hopeful. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars too cliche
I thought that the stories were too predictable. They were sort of like Twilight Zone retreads. The writing was good.
