4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting set of stories. February 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love short stories and most of these were worth reading. I found them ultimately a little lacking in conclusions, but I still enjoyed reading them. On a couple, especially, the writing style felt very atmospheric and symbolic. I felt similarly about Journeys of Wonder, Volume 1: An Anthology of Genre Fiction.

Good book of short stories. This is a quirky book with stories by multiple authors. Each one shows creativity and pacing that makes them good to read

I found volume 2 just as good as volume 1.
The first two stories are probably my favorites. The first, dramatic and engrossing, the second was suspenseful with a great feeling of impending doom and an ending I did not see coming at all.
Once again I enjoyed all of the stories, though the last story was probably once again my least favorite.
Still, a great collection and well worth a read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fast paced pulp December 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The five fast-paced stories in this volume tackle a variety of science fiction and fantasy themes. Since the stories are all told in the first person, and most in the present tense, they deliver an immediacy that fast-forwards readers from their beginnings to their conclusions. Such immediacy is appropriate for the young protagonists featured in most of the stories. Those who like action driven stories will find these enjoyable. Those who prefer stronger character development, deeper self-reflection, and occasional literary frills will find them somewhat lacking.
