PAL format likely not to work on your DVD player in the US,

I just got this disc as a gift off my wish list, and was disappointed to find out that although it is multi-region coded, it's in PAL (European) rather than NTSC (North American) video format. Which means that your DVD player probably won't play this disc if you're in North America. I tried it on a Playstation3 as well as on a Magnavox DVD player, both of which wouldn't play it despite being connected to an HDTV which should be able to handle either display format. However, it does play on my Mac computer, so while I'm disappointed I won't be able to watch this in my living room, I didn't send the disc back and will watch it on my computer.No review of the actual content since I haven't watched it yet, but I wanted to warn any other customers about the PAL format so you're not surprised as I was (since the Amazon description says it's NTSC format). Also, it is only one disc, not two, as the Amazon description says. |
