About the Author

Joy Bauer is the author of seven books on food and nutrition, including two New York Times bestsellers. She is the resident nutrition expert for the Today show and Yahoo.com, and a contributing editor to Parade and Woman’s Day magazines. She has built one of the largest, most advanced nutrition centers in the country and is official nutrionist to the New York City Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. She lives in New York City with her husband and three children.

This book has plenty of recipes for all kinds of health and wellness problems -- everything from dental issues to heart disease and diabetes. I bought this book with the cholesterol and diabetes recipes in mind but there is a lot more here. Clear and easy to understand.

This book has a large list of disorders along with jump-starting menus and recipes to help the reader cope. This book became ever so much more valuable when I found out that Medicare does not consider Nutritionists or dieticians as being necessary to a person's well-being. One of the very best books on nutrition and its relationship to health wellness I have ever found.

This book is a great read and a great reference for those of us who want to get healthier. Joy Bauer uses her nutritionist's expertise to give us pointers on how to use food and our daily diet to prevent and cure chronic ailments such as high cholesterol, heart disease and diabetes that are so prevalent in people today. With the cost of being sick so heavy on the pocket nowadays, in terms of expensive drugs & doctor visits, as well as sick days, the information provided in this book helps us maintain our health, which is ultimately, our wealth.
