This album is an absolute enjoyment,

Listening to Joy Enriquez's self-titled album is an enjoyable treat. Featuring songs written and produced by eminent songwriters including Rodney Jerkins, Fred Jerkins, Ian Prince and Babyface, the solid ensemble of producers churn out a delectable mix of R&B, groove and ballads. Joy manages to belt out the songs with enthusiasm, but her voice lacks identity and feels like a crossover from Mariah Carey to Vanessa Williams. However, she injects emotions and her own expressions inside her song which saved her from being a photocopy of the common divas. Her first song though, Tell me How you feel, is one of my favourites and manages to show off her vocal ranges and assurance in getting the beat and rhythm. The smooth mix of R&B is determined to showcase her as a diva - "I can't Believe", "Situation" and Rodney Jerkin's "Between you and me" are all destined to charm and make you hit the dance floor. What I am most impressed is her ballads - one of my personal fave "Losing this love" is mellow, gentle and fits her vocal range like a glove. The album plus one bonus track from her sophomore single "How can I not love you" is definitely one reason more to grab this album. Joy Enriquez proves that she is a gem and with more refining, she is set to become the next pop sensation. The album is definitely one to be joyous about.

It's A Joy To Listen To Her Singing!,

Joy Enriquez's debut album is wonderful. From the danceable and hot first single, Tell Me How You Feel, to the beautiful last track, How Can I Not Love You, from the soundtrack of Anna & The King. Joy is very talented and there are no songs that would put you to sleep in here. I love the beats in Shake Up The Party. Someday, Without You and Situation are excellent. Try it and I bet you'll love her and her music too.

Pure Pop & Girl Power!!,
This review is from: Joy Enriquez (Audio CD)
Just like Christina Aguilera & Britney Spears, Joy Enriquez got her big break on Star Search when she was 15. Now the 21-year-old pop singer is ready for diva-hood herself. Joy's spicy debut album features ranging from groovy dance tracks to soft, romantic ballads. Best Song: "Tell Me How You Feel" |
