We purchased this book for a friend who loves Rhubarb, and it was a great success. She was very excited to start cookin' up some Rhubarb treats! Important to note: this is not a hard cover book, but I feel it is still a good buy.

If you have rhubarb to use you are sure to find a recipe in this book. Rhubarb is good for desserts, breads, salads,beverages and can be paired with meat or used in casseroles. The book also includes how to plant, harvest and freeze rhubarb. All this in one book.

A great collection of recipes...I love the Apple-Rhubarb Crisp...it is sooo good.
Just about everyone I know has a clump of rhubarb, or at least the neighbor will share theirs if asked!!

Like a lot of other gardeners, I have a rhubarb plant that is uber-prolific. For the last several years, I've promised myself I was going to do something besides wait til the end of summer and then trash all the by-then-rotting stalks. The Joy of Rhubarb is a perfect answer. I grew up with the idea that rhubarb went into pie, and maybe jam or conserves, and that was all. The author, however, has assembled recipes for rhubarb quick breads, rhubarb chutney, rhubarb salads, rhubarb dessert sauces, and a lot more. So far, I've made 5 recipes from the book - walnut rhubarb chutney, rhubarb ketchup, rhubarb-rasberry jam, rhubarb-orange sauce, and the rhubarb pork chop casserole. The only one I didn't like was the pork chop casserole, because it seemed to be mostly bread crumbs. I'd re-do it using 1/3 the bread crumbs or just skip them. My son loves the rhubarb ketchup (uses it on french fries) and the rhubarb-rasberry jam. The recipes are clear and easy to follow. I'd definitely buy this book again.

If you are wondering what to do with all of your rhubarb then this is the book for you.There are some new recipes and also the old standbys. It really has a wide variety to choose from.

Do I like this book ? You bet, I have bought 3 alread; the first one I purchased for myself and after reading it and trying some of the reciopes, I bought another one for a rhubarb-loving friend. I just now purchased another one to give away too.

I was in the Denali National Park bookstore and came across this book. Boy, was I ever excited because I am a tried and true rhubarb lover. I grow it, I buy it, I beg for it. I love to make cobblers, pies, cakes and breads with rhubarb and this book has them all. In fact, it has every recipe imaginable for rhubarb. So......if you're like me and can't get enough rhubarb, this cookbook is for you.

This is the second one I've purchased. One in Alaska and then a friend has an over-abundance of Rhubarf so I got her one. She was delighted and started cooking almost immediately. Anyone who likes rhubarb should certainly have this book. Great Recipies and Great Book!!!
