5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoy the rewards of volunteering!, July 21, 2011
This review is from: The Joy of Volunteering - working and surviving in developing countries (Perfect Paperback)
Over the past three decades, I've had the "joy and many rewards of volunteering" virtually all over this planet. I, and other volunteers have all agreed that the rewards of volunteering, be it local or overseas, are far greater than the services you give.

My reason for writing The Joy of Volunteering is that, without fail, upon return from a volunteer mission, I'm always asked by people, "How can I get involved in some volunteer work?"

Though there are thousands of good volunteer organization needing your help, it is surprising how little information to help put you together. This book explains how to find the ideal organization to fit yours and their needs. It tells you how to prepare yourself for your mission.

It will show you how you can go solo or with a group, or family. It will forewarn you of possible pitfalls and how to avoid them. This book is what you need to assure you that your experience as a volunteer will be most beneficial to those you are helping and most rewarding to you.
