OF ALL THE CHRISTMAS MUSIC I HAVE LISTENED TO OVER THE LAST 30 YEARS OF MY LIFE, I HAVE NEVER HAD SO MUCH JOY AS I DO WHEN I LISTEN TO THIS ALBUM.IT REALLY DOES TAKE ME BACK TO THE REAL REASON FOR THE SEASON. BILL, GLORIA, AND THE REST OF THE CREW DID SUCH A WONDERFUL JOB ON THIS ONE. A MUST LISTNE TOO IS C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S.. I WAS MADE TO LISTEN TO THIS SONG WHEN I WAS A YOUNGER AND WAS BEING SHALL I SAY A "BRAT"... AND THIS SONG TOUGHT ME WHAT CHRISTMAS WAS ALL ABOUT. SO IN CLOSING, I THINK IT IS SUCH A WONDER ALBUM.. DON'T BELIEVE ME? BUY IT AND TRY IT FOR YOURSELF. I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY.

Sometimes we get so caught up in the gifts, the tree decorating, and cookie baking, that we forget the real reason for Christmas. Even if one goes looking for religious Christmas music, it's hard to find something that is truly inspiring. This CD is more than inspiring.

When these people sing Joy to the World they mean it. The birth of Christ means something to these singers. But, don't think this is going to be preachy or deadly serious. It's not at all. These songs are a mix of traditional favorites; familiar, but less frequently heard songs; and new songs.

One of the best songs on the album, and a song I hope will become a Christmas classic, is Mary Did You Know. It asks Mary if she knew what a special baby she had. It's song by Mark Lowry and Buddy Greene, the men who wrote it. Another favorite new song is the Gaither Vocal Band's New Star Shining. It is a beautifully gentle ballad.

This CD contains a wide variety of types of music, including Bluegrass, African American spiritual, Calypso, choral singing, and more. One thing you should know, if you've never heard a Gaither concert, these folks can flat out sing. There are lots and lots of different singers, so you won't be getting bored.

There is a video version of this CD. In all honesty, I think you will definitely enjoy the CD more if you have seen the video. I play the video when I am home, and use the CD in the car. However, even without the video, this CD can stand on it's own merit.

This is a real treasure! This disc represents what Christmas is truely about,the birth of Jesus! The warmth and sincerety is what really sets this disc apart from many is the same genre. Your Christmas will never be the same once you experience Bill and Gloria's Christmas presentation.
