5.0 out of 5 stars Wok and Roll!!!
I received this yesterday. They are very sturdy and well made. I used one piece to stir fry last night and was very pleased. It also cleaned up easy. I am very impressed with the weight and quality of each piece. This particular set (in a clear plastic box) is treated wood. The price is very much worth what you get.

I purchased a similar Joyce Chen...

3.0 out of 5 stars Basically 3 Bamboo Spoons
They're lovely, don't get me wrong, but they are essentially 3 bamboo spoons of various sizes or thickness'. I wish I'd seen more picture of the actual utensils and not just a pic of the packaging--you know so we know exactly what we are getting.

I purchased a similar Joyce Chen cooking utensil set from Bed Bath & Beyond - this set came in a red nylon-string type bag. Same price, but the wood on these utensils is bare.

I prefer the Amazon set and if you're looking for wooden utensils for any of your cookware - not just your wok - I recommend these!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, sturdy spoon set!, May 20, 2008

I ordered these spoons for just one of them, and found out that ALL of them are VERY useful. They are HIGH quality wood, much better than I expected based off of the VERY cheap price, and mine didn't have a perfume odor at all! The shape of two of the spoons are excellent, with flat edges so you can easily have a spoon/spatula, which was a pleasant surprise. Then you have one spatula and one regular wooden spoon. All of these are wonderful, so I'm coming back for more!

We've been using these over the past year continually with no complaints. These are much better quality than the freebies that come with some woks. They are sealed and still look like new even after washing them repeatedly in the dishwasher. If you want something sturdy to use in pans you're worried about scratching, these are the way to go.

These tools for the Wok are of very high quality. Made of bamboo and sealed with some kind of varnish material. I'm am proud to own them and to show them off to my friends. They exceeded my expectations for quality of workmanship.

We are trying to reduce plastics in the kitchen and these items fill the cooking utensil void nicely. Easy to clean and they don't scratch up pots and pans.

The Joyce Chen 3-piece bamboo stir fry set is absolutely amazing. I never understood the hype surrounding the use of bamboo until I ordered a set of these for my girlfriend's birthday; now I'm on the bandwagon! These utensils are soft like wood and won't hurt your pots and pans, but unlike wood they do not retain water after cleaning them and dry almost instantaneously. Furthermore, very little sticks to these utensils, making clean-up a breeze! After using these for several months, we have decided to purchase three more sets, one each for a different person for Christmas. At such a low price, these make fantastic gifts for the chef in your life!

Well made & I cook with them at least 5 days of the week. Easy to clean. And I use them even with my cast iron cooking ware. Would buy again.
Note: It took too long for shipping. C'mon guys...I'm still waiting for orders I placed in May. Way to go Super-saving shipping??!!! I think I'll start paying for shipping if it means I don't have to wait for two months.

A wonderful set of burnished wooden spoons for under 6 bucks! Functional and looked far more expensive. I came back and the bought the utensil set also. Comes with its own holder and pretty enough to leave on the counter.Joyce Chen Burnished Bamboo Utensil Set

People complain about these kitchen tools because they are difficult to clean. This is durable wood, and you can run it through the dishwasher, but consider washing them as soon as you are finished using them.

I bought these mainly because I can't stand the feel of a wooden spoon after it's washed a few times. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard for me ... popsicle sticks, wooden spoons ... ugh.

These utensils can be washed in the dishwasher and always stay just as smooth as when you receive them.
