Joyce Chen 15-3/4-Inch Stainless Steel Wok Spatula with Maple Wood Handle

Made stir fry with it recently and it worked well. However, the wood handle is a little loose. It appears it was crimped, but not well.

good tool, good size and weight, works great wtih Wok cooking, disappointed, however, as the handle is getting loose over time.

This is a quality piece you must have if you like to use a wok. The shape of the spatula conforms perfectly to the inside of the wok. I use a cast iron wok, its impossible to pick it up to "pour" out the contents and therefore the spatula is an important part of the cooking process. Could not live without it!!

This spatula is good and sturdy for stir frying in a wok and will take a reasonable amount of force without flexing (more than one would normally use when cooking). The steel and wooden pieces are conjoined in a such a manner that does not feel like they will come apart in a few months. It is an aesthetically attractive spatula and feels like it will serve its purpose for years.

Disappointed with this Joyce Chen product (even though I like the bamboo spatulas) as the metal body of the spatula fell off its wood handle out of the box. This is DANGEROUS and could result in serious burns and injury while cooking with hot oil if one chose to trust the bare dimples in the metal crimping!

What is going through the corporate minds at Columbian Home Products in Lake Zurich, Illinois???

That said, being a guy and only buying this product as a cat scoop for cleaning out my cats' litter boxes, I simply drilled and pinned the handle to make it more secure (which is how it should have been spec'd for its manufacturing in - of course - China).

BTW, I highly recommend the Joyce Chen bamboo spatula for stir frying - especially for non-stick cooking surfaces.

Good design but terrible materials. First, the handle did not come attached. Not a big deal; glue and a hammer tapped it into place. Second, the metal is thin and cheap. Third, the wooden part of the handle is too short: either make the entire piece metal or make the wooden part wider than three fingers. Unlike Martha Stewart, after buying Joyce Chen's products, you get the sense that she's out for pure profit because she fails to deliver quality and durability anywhere. Too bad; this was a waste of my hard earned money.

This thing is heavy, hard to hold, the handle came off right out of the box. The shape doesn't fit my wok (stainless steel, 14" wok). I was very disappointed and wouldn't buy this again.

Good sale price. Good handle length to work with large WOK. Wood handle keeps heat transfer at bay. Product arrived with loose handle (this problem was noted in other reviews, but I took a chance). I gently removed the handle, dampened the wood, applied Gorilla Glue, carefully reinserted the handle, kept removing the glue expansion with a solvent for a clean repair and applied oil. Apply oil to the wood frequently and limit the water contact. You are welcome, Joyce Chen.

Was concerned about buying this sight unseen, but am very satisfied with the product. We do a lot of stir frys, and I was having trouble finding any store that sold a decent spatula. This one has deep sides that make flipping the stir fry easy. Better spatula than any sold at the traditional cooking stores in Tucson, AZ.

This item is very well made, reasonably priced and I would definitely buy it again, if I ever needed another.
