My Joyce Chen bowls arrived perfectly packed and in excellent shape. The individual boxes themselves were sturdy and have extra cushioning inside, spoon and chopsticks were wrapped separately. My son is addicted to Ramen Noodles and serving them in these bowls takes it up a notch. I love the chopsticks that come with the set. They have grooves at the tip that serve to hold slippery noodle better than anything I have ever seen. These noodle bowls make a 15 cent meal look so special and I wouldn't hesitate to order more as gifts.

After the previous poor reviews and shipping problems Amazon had encountered with this item you would have thought they would have been more cautious with the packaging. Unfortunately, they weren't. If you purchase - double your order - that way you have a chance of getting about half that aren't broken and you can return the broken items like I ended up doing. Some were shattered, some had hairline cracks so inspect them very carefully upon receipt. Amazon doesn't provide a phone number for complaints. Good Luck!

I adore the shape of these bowls, but find them to be incredibly delicate; one has already cracked at the hole and a spoon has broken beyond mending. They also conduct heat a bit too well for eating utensils; perhaps a more durable material for the next set?

These are great bowls for noodles, rice, soup, etc. They arrived on time, BUT one bowl was broken at the chopstick hole. It was replaced promptly but I'm sure that is a weak point on the bowl and will have to be careful washing them.

I received my set of bowls today, and I was extremely fortunate that they arrived alright. As many others have said, they were very badly packed. The manufacturer's box (which had the sets securely bubble wrapped, thankfully) was kicking around in a huge shipping box, filled with two partially deflated air pillow-packs. As my UPS delivery person handed it to me the shipping box tilted, and I heard the box inside thud gently against one end of the larger container, and thought "oh no!" UPS here is wonderful, and I think most of the reason it arrived in good condition is because it wasn't shipped by mail. Mine came from Las Vegas - perhaps the Las Vegas packing department is the problem?

The bowls themselves are as pretty as they are in the pictures. They do, indeed, conduct heat very well - they're not suitable for carrying around as you eat, but for table use they're great. The chopsticks are lightweight and probably won't last forever, but I like them just fine. They certainly made our ramen and nori luch look fancy today.

I bought these bowls as a Christmas gift for my two sons, ages 12 and 14. The bowls, spoons, and chopsticks are very nice items. The bowls are an excellent size for noodles, and they have a nice weight to them. The spoons have a good feel in your hands. The chopsticks are a bit cheap feeling, but they look nice and they do the job. Both of my boys loved their gifts, and I am very pleased with the purchase. I would definitely buy these again if I knew someone who would like this type of gift.

This is a very nice item. I like the way the chopsticks fit over the top and the shape of the spoon is great for eating soup.

A very nice set. Unfortunately I ordered 2 sets (4 bowls) and received 1 1/2 sets (3 bowls, and some shards). Very poor packaging in the shipping box resulted in the destruction of one of the bowls. Everything else survived intact. I'm currently seeking recourse from amazon.com

Amazon was VERY quick to offer a prepaid return label and shipped another set out via FedEx next day.

Unfortunately, the next set also had a damaged bowl.

Citing "problematic" shipping problems, amazon refused to ship another set. They did offer a $10 certificate, refund and return shipping label, but none of them have appeared yet after 5 days (a weekend was in there).

I'll tell you the definition of "problematic". Each shipment was received (in oversized boxes) with the bowls' containers laying on the bottom of the carton, and lot's of packing on top. Would it be too hard to pack the bottom, top and sides of the product?

I did not read the description carefully. It is advertised as BIG BOWL, yet it is too small to serve oriental noodle soup. Look for other bigger bowls if you plan to use it for noodle soup.

My bowls were rec'd in awesome condition. I used them for the first time yesterday, awesome!!! i think i will buy more for a couple of family members.
