Book Description

January 29, 2007
A few years ago, John Floyd was in a financial mess. He struggled to pay his bills, had no money saved or invested, and constantly got threatening phone calls from collection agencies. But one day he got fed up and decided to turn his life around financially. In just a short time he was paying his bills in full and on time, saving and investing lots of money, and avoiding debt.

Now, in his new book Joyfully Debt Free, Floyd tells you how he did it and how you can too. It doesn't matter how much you make, or how tough things are - you CAN turn your life around financially.

But don't expect another boring financial book written by some stuffy "expert". This was written by someone who has been on the bottom and climbed his way out. Floyd has spent many years working as a stand-up comedian so he knows how to keep things simple, interesting, and entertaining.

So stop living paycheck to paycheck, stop trying to keep up with people who are probably in worse financial shape than you, stop putting off saving for tomorrow, stop letting financial companies take advantage of you, and start letting compound interest help you instead of hurting you. You can't afford to go another day without reading this book!

About the Author

A few years ago John Floyd was in bad financial shape. He was in debt, had no retirement plan and very little savings, and lived paycheck to paycheck. But one day he got fed up and decided to turn around his life financially. In a short period of time he got out of debt, started saving and investing on a regular basis, and turned his back on credit. Today he devotes his life to teaching people about money. In this informative and humorous book (after all, the author has spent many years working as a stand-up comedian) find out how John Floyd: - Paid off his credit cards and now never has credit card debt. - Socked away money for emergencies. - Maxes out retirement funds. - Went from having trouble financing a car, to paying cash for one in just a few years. - Went from struggling to pay rent on his apartment, to buying a home that he is set to have paid off in a fraction of the time that most people do. - Learned that giving is the most important thing you can do with your money. And how YOU can do all of this too! John Floyd is just a regular guy. He didn't go to an Ivy League school and has never worked in the financial field. But the beauty of his system is that none of that matters. No matter what you do for a living, how much money you make, where you went to school, or how bad off you are - if he can do this, so can you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic And Fun!, March 1, 2007
This review is from: Joyfully Debt Free: How to Get Out of Debt, Stay Out, and Accumulate a Fortune! (Paperback)
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. Finally a book on finances written by a regular guy instead of stuffy know-it-all. I couldn't believe how much a stand-up comedian knows about money and getting out of debt. But this is HIS story. He doesn't just tell you how to do it, he tells you how HE did it. So it's informative as well as inspiring. It's very easy reading and often funny as well. How many books on money can make that claim? I highly recommend this book no matter what your financial situation may be.

1.0 out of 5 stars This book is a waste of money and time, June 6, 2008
This review is from: Joyfully Debt Free: How to Get Out of Debt, Stay Out, and Accumulate a Fortune! (Paperback)
I was hoping this book would contain sound advice on getting out of credit card debt, but I was sorely disappointed. After giving some good advice such as you must cut up your credit cards, the author goes on to say you must also give 10 percent of your money away (tithe). He says it is not optional. To get out of debt, you must do this. Why? Well, because it worked for him. He believed that through some sort of magic, because he donated 10 percent of his income to charity, he earned more income.

I believe this advice is harmful and wrong, and recommend that you not waste your money on this book.
